Sometimes it’s good to be a big guy. In football, there’s a reason you don’t see players over 6-foot-7 very often. Corbin Kaufusi is about to find out why.

A popular player at Brigham Young over the last four years, defensive end Corbin Kaufusi comes from a family of NFL players. His brother Bronson, celebrating a birthday today, Jul 6, is currently a defensive end for the Jets after being drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Bronson is in year two. His father, Steve, was taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 12th round of the 1988 NFL Draft. Father Steve lasted two years. It’s up to Corbin to see if he can make that streak alive and become the third of the line to play and hopefully last longer than two years.

We started the profiles of the men making up the Saints 90-man training camp roster with a breakdown of the receivers group, followed by the running backs, tight ends, offensive line and we wrapped the offense with the quarterbacks. On the defensive side of the ball, we begin with the defensive ends.

For individual profiles on the defensive side of the ball, we’re going to switch things around a bit. For offense, we were going in descending order, profiling the number one player from a group down to the most likely cut. On defense, we’re going the opposite way, from most likely cut to number one. With that in mind, we start our profiles of the nine players vying for a roster spot at defensive end with the undrafted rookie free agent out of Brigham Young University, Corbin Kaufusi.
