"In five of nine games, the Saints offense has played 70-plus snaps, and in the previous five games, the team has faced some of the league’s top defensive lines in the NFL with Washington, Baltimore, Minnesota, the Rams and Cincinnati.

So, for the past two weeks, coach Sean Payton has rewarded some of the Saints offensive linemen with some extra rest."

Definitely need to rest them for this next 3 game stretch.

That bye week will be clutch in the playoffs should we achieve it. Heck, I have such high hopes for the next stretch of games for the rest of the season that I'm guardedly optimistic that the Week 17 battle with the Panthers will be for nothing for us (ala 2009) and we can rest players then too.

Yep ... rest will be hard to come by until after the Dallas game.

Wishful thinking ... but in a perfect world, the Saints will be up enough on the Eagles and/or Falcons in the 4th quarter to pull some starters and give them even more rest. Super unlikely, of course.
