I've really been trying to hold off on offseason threads until after the season was over, considering it bad form. But, well gosh, i'm just so not used to our season still going strong at this point :D

Anyways, I figured I would take a look at the possible upcoming draft order as well as who the teams should take and who I wish they would take.

1. Detroit - 2-11
Who they should take: Troy Smith QB, Brady Quinn QB, Brian Brohm QB. I'm partial to Smith but no chance he goes 1st overall.

Who I wish they would take: Calvin Johnson WR. Self-explanatory

2. Oakland - 2-11
Who they should take: Joe Thomas LT.

Who I wish they would take: Jamarcus Russell QB. I think it might actually be fun seeing Jamarcus Russell and Randy Moss together. Could be a new Daunte/Moss combo.

3. Tampa Bay - 3-10
Who they should take: Calvin Johnson WR. Joey Galloway is getting older and isn't a true #1 and you have to wonder what happened to Clayton.

Who I wish they would take: Brady Quinn QB. So Jon Gruden can ruin him.

4. Houston - 4-9
Who they should take: Adrian Peterson RB. A lock as a pro-bowl RB. I'm real partial to this sort of running back as well.

Who I wish they would take: Gaines Adams DE. Because why not pass on a once-in-a-lifetime RB talent for an overrated ACC DE the second time in a row? It worked out so well for you the first time.

5.Washington - 4-9
Who they should take: LaRon Landry S. Sean Taylor sucks, Archuleta was a bust, and now 50 year old Troy Vincent is their best cover S.

Who I wish they would take: Trade the first round pick away for some ridiculously overhyped restricted free-agent. Because that's what Dan Snyder does. Who needs the draft!

6. Cleveland - 4-9
Who they should take: Leon Hall CB. Baxter can't stay healthy and they've just been crushed with injuries to this position. McCutcheon, the #2, isn't that great anyways.

Who I wish they would take: Ted Ginn Jr. WR. Because you can't have enough overrated "me" recievers to go with Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow.

7. Arizona - 4-9
Who they should take: Levi Brown LT. Having recently played themselves out of the Joe Thomas LT sweepstakes, they take the next best.

Who I wish they would take: Mike Martz. Terrible Head Coach, so no real threat to our NFC domination, but come on. Who here doesn't want to see Martz coach Leinart/Fitzgerald/Boldin? I know I want to see it.

8. San Fransico - 5-8
Who they should take: Marcus McCauley CB. Their secondary sucks and this guy has real potential.

Who I wish they would take: Brian Brohm QB. Alex Smith sucks. It's hard to admit you were wrong about a #1 overall pick, but yeah, the 49ers were wrong.

9. Green Bay - 5-8
Who they should take: Amobi Okoye DT. They're soft inside and this guy is a beast. They probably need a CB more but with the top 2 CBs off the board this is the best bet on the board. You know he's a redshirt senior and still only age 20?

Who I wish they would take: Whatever QB is left. Because when Farve leaves Aaron Rodgers is going to be a train-wreck. Tedford QB anyone?

10. St. Louis - 5-8
Who they should take: Quinn Pitcock DT. Big run stuffer for a soft inside D.

Who I wish they would take: Sidney Rice WR. I hear he's a "heckuva" player (overrated physical talent)

11. Miami - 6-7
Who they should take: Tony Ugoh LT. Even though Harrington has cut down on the sacks they really do need O-line help.

Who I wish they would take: Ron Wolf. Nick Saban needs good advice on personnal. Badly.

12. Tennessee Titans - 6-7
Who they should take: Jeff Samardzija WR. What Vince Young needs more then anything else for the next step in his progression is a big, tall, sure handed WR who snags the ball in critical situations.

Who I wish they would take: Loose Cannon. His enthusiasm for VY would be worth 1 or 2 extra wins a year alone. Plus he brings beer.

13. Carolina - 6-7
Who they should take: They should have traded up for Troy Smith QB. But if here Ryan Kalil C is probably their best bet even though it's way to early to take an interior O-linemen. But that's their biggest offensive need.

Who I wish they would take: Brady Quinn QB. Has a high "bust" potential and would take a 2 or 3 year adjustment anyways.

14. Pittsburgh - 6-7
Who they should take: Dwayne Jarrett WR. Not even in most peoples Top 5 at WR. Whatever. I like him probably the most after Calvin Johnson. And they need a WR because Santonio Holmes is not the answer there.

Who I wish they would take: Brian Leonard FB. Good reciever, great blocker, can line up at HB and carry 20 - 25 times a game as well. Would be a brilliant pairing with Willie Parker. I would be excited to see that backfield.

15. Buffalo - 6-7
Who they should take: Are we still out of QBs? Because Losman isn't the answer either. Daymeion Hughes CB wouldn't be a bad pick since they are fixing to let Nate Clements walk.

Who I wish they would take: Anyone interesting. Because I sure as heck don't have a reason to care about this team right now.

16. Minnesota - 6-7
Who they should take: They should have traded up in 2006 for Leinart. Now they're in trouble.

Who I wish they would take: Doesn't matter, without a QB this team isn't going anywhere.

17. Kansas City - 7-6
Who they should take: STILL no QBs? Because Trent Green can't play forever. Man so many teams have QB needs, we're really really lucky. DeMarcus Tyler DT. I'm not real high on NC St linemen right now but KC needs DT help.

Who I wish they would take: Greg Olson TE. He won't be Gonzalez but it just doesn't seem like KC without a TE who can get down the field and catch.

18. NY Jets - 7-6
Who they should take: Michael Bush RB. Will have to "fight" for the starting job with Leon Washington and Kevan Barlow.....yeeeaaaahhhh.

Who I wish they would take: Michael Bush RB. I think this is a potentially exciting offense with a solid RB.

19. Atlanta - 7-6
Who they should take: Troy Smi....ok i'll drop it. Tim Crowder DE. Abraham won't stay healthy and Kerney is likely to get cut this offseason.

Who I wish they would take: Who played QB at Duke this year?

20. Philadelphia - 7-6
Who they should take: Paul Posluszny OLB. The defense has fallen into disrepair and they need to fix it. The defense is as much their identity as Donovan McNabb.

Who I wish they would take: About 2 more Donovan McNabbs. I'm tired of getting excited about the season the guy is having and then watching him get hurt. Maybe they can just get a 6-pack of him.

21. NY Giants - 7-6
Who they should take: Aaron Ross CB. Neither Sam Madison nor McQuarters are the answer.

Who I wish they would take: Quentin Moses DE. Everyone laughed and thought they were crazy for taking Kiwanuaka when they already had 2 outstanding and 1 good young DE. Then everyone get's hurt. Forget the critics and blow ahead Matt Millen Jr.!

22. Denver - 7-6
Who they should take: Dwayne Bowe WR. Rod Smith is old.

Who I wish they would take: Kenny Irons RB. Might as well go from one RB friendly system which resulted in him being way overrated to another RB friendly system which will result in him being way overrated. I like symmetry.

23. Dallas - 8-5
Who they should take: Ben Grubbs OG. Versatile lineman and they need O-line help.

Who I wish they would take: Jim Haslett when Parcells retires. Self-explanatory.

24. Jacksonville - 8-5
Who they should take: Anthony Spencer DE. Would play SLB for them. The added pass-rush would make that defense absoloutely lethal.

Who I wish they would take. Anthony Spencer DE actually. I wouldn't mind seeing such an outstanding defense (in a different conference)

25. Seattle - 8-5
Who they should take: They should have a first round pick. They don't, they traded it to New England for a 4th WR (even if he was Deion Branch).

Who I wish they would take: No one. Fourtantly they are in the NFC so the trade works out for us.

26. Cinncinati - 8-5
Who they should take: Turk McBride DT. Athletic DT and fills a need.

Who I wish they would take: Whose been arrested lately?

27. New England - 9-4
Who they should take: LaMarr Woodley DE/OLB. Would be a 3-4 OLB or a pass-rush DE for the flex New England system. They have had a critical need at LB all season.

Who I wish they would take: Woodley's a good pick.I don't mind New England being good.

28. New Orleans Saints - 9-4
Who they should take: PATRICK WILLIS!

Who I wish they would take: Patrick WIllis! Patrick WIllis! Patrick WIllis! Patrick WIllis!

29. Indianapolis - 10-3
Who they should take: Glenn Dorsey DT. Need help inside.

Who I wish they would take: Limas Sweed WR. Offense. More offense. No one cares if Indy plays defense, we want to see them take more offensive players.

30. Baltimore - 10-3
Who they should take: Kevin Kolb QB. McNair isn't a long-term solution and Boller isn't any solution whatsoever.

Who I wish they would take: Earl Everett OLB. It means they're letting Adalius Thomas walk.

31. Chicago - 11-2
Who they should take: Michael Okwo OLB. If they let Briggs walk.

Who I wish they would take: Anything but a competent QB

32. San Diego - 11-2
Who they should take: Antonio Pittman RB. They'll probably lose Michael Turner.

Who I wish they would take: Le'Ron McClain FB. O'Neal can't play forever.

Really, do you honestly think things could continue to go this well for us? When did we become the team that got all the breaks? I would be beyond happy if this happens.

Wow, you are hurting my brain! I dont WANT to think about this stuff right now.

With that said, I have checked this out too. ;)

I am with you on Willis and he realistically could and should be there when the Saints draft. My biggest fear is Carolina. He would fit there and would be a candidate for their first pick, however, I cant imagine them taking him in the top 15....barring some kind of astronomical combine leap. ie Mario Williams

Oh no,no,no. This wasn't a real mock draft. I mean the players are "vaguely" where they might be. The guys I named are the top players. But I wasn't doing a serious mock draft. Just messing around. Patrick Willis will probably go somewhere between 15 and 24, just out of our range. I intentionally slide him to us :D

Good call... :spit:

While entertaining (and I assume it's meant for those purposes alone) Willis and Dorsey will be looooong gone before the end of the first round unless they are both cauight driving through a small town with a bag of weed in the passenger seat...

There's a much better chance of them taking Willis at 13 than Ryan Kalil! When's the last time a C or G went top 15? Actually we were the brilliant ones who took Chris Naeole top 10 in 1997.

While you may very well be right, and all is to premature at this point anyhow. However, historically speaking, middle linebacker's tend to slide in the draft. Of course there are exceptions but since 1994, only 3 MLBs have been taken in the top 15, Chris Claiborne in '99 9th overall, 2001 Dan Morgan 11th overall, and 2004 Jonathon Vilma 12th overall.

You can argue that Urlacher was as well, however, he was projected as a LB/S 'tweener and depending on where you get your info he was a OLB and others he was a MLB.

Again, he may climb the charts after the combines, but there is also a realistic chance that he will slide to mid 20s and even the 2nd round. Remember, Ray Lewis was taken 26th overall as well.

That's correct. This wasn't meant to be taken seriously except as maybe a vague introduction to some of the players you'll see in the first round and some of the team needs you can expect to see. Mostly it was just be wasting time and making a few jokes.

Sean Taylor does not suck, he's actually a very good safety. Bad person? Sure, but good player.

Terrible in coverage. You can't be a good FS in the NFL and be terrible in coverage. Watch this weekend, we'll attack him like we did Roy Williams.

I think Cincy took Levi Jones (guard, at the time) about 3-4 years ago.

Levi was projected to be a LT before the draft by most I believe.

Interior linemen don't go that early, but Carolina's need is on the O-line and the QB. They're in a tough spot to acquire either.
