Zion was undoubtedly the obvious first draft selection for the Pels. But let's temper expectations just a bit.

It may take a while for Zion to develop an outside game. 6'8" guys whose game is near the rim need to develop a consistent outside and/or mid-range shot to become truly un-defendable. It took AD a few seasons to develop that, and it may take Zion a few seasons also.

Before he develops a good outside shot, he will be pretty dang good. If/when he fully develops into a good outside shooter, he will be unguardable. Also, his outside shot is a lot better now than AD’s at this stage.

I agree it will take a few years for Zion to develop his mid range game but as the video pointed out, the pro is that he is surrounded by guys who can build his game up and get him open. And clearly Gentry has plays in the system that allowed Randle to play like Zion plays, so its not reinventing the offense to make his skillset work.

Also, Zion can run the floor better than Davis all day.
