Rudy Gobert, Anthony Davis headline NBA All-Defensive teams


The votes are in, and it is Utah’s Rudy Gobert and Anthony Davis at the top with the most points. Just as interestingly, six players made All-Defense for the first time.

With the voting totals, I think we know who is getting Defensive Player of the year, but can't be upset with AD coming in 2nd for Defensive Player, 3rd in MVP and making a few All NBA selections. I assume he will get All NBA team.

I do too. He was incredible and played like 25 more games than Gilbert.

Anthony Davis named first-team All-NBA for the second straight season

Anthony Davis has now met the super max criteria (All-NBA in 2 out of 3 seasons) and is eligible to sign the largest contract in NBA history next summer (2019). The extension projects to be worth $230 million with a cap hit in 2020-21 starting at $39.7 million.

I was thinking about how jrue, AD and Mirotic are our big three with randle, Moore and Payton in the mix. If Erman can teach Jah, niko and Payton elite defense we may be on our way to the conference finals.

If the peels were in the East we could be the 1/2 seed. We are likely a 4th seed in the west and I think we got a whole lot better we should have lots of cap space this offseason too as it's likely to have another large increase.
