Adrian Peterson 2012 NFL MVP (1 Viewer)

Now if he'd just leave the Minnesota Vikings, I might actually start to like the guy.

(I kid... But seriously, the Vikings are BLESSED to have that man on their team.)

20 QBs and 8 RBs have won the award since the last time a defensive player has won. 53 offensive players have won the award and only 2 defensive players have won.

AP had an amazing season but he hasn't done anything that hasn't been seen in the NFL before. 4 players in the last 15 years have rushed for 2k yards. It happens about once every 4 seasons. AP's claim to the MVP was that he almost broke Dickerson's record yet ED didn't get the MVP.

JJ Watt had a season we may never see again from a defensive player. He was a 1.5 sack away from the record. He had the most batted passes of any defensive lineman since they've been recording passes defended, he had more than twice as many tackles for a loss as all other defensive players. When teams went against him they gameplanned relentlessly to take him away but couldn't do it. He had more hurries and Knock downs than any other player in the league and did it at a position that usually sees very low stats. I've read some articles stating that by himself he was the main factor in forcing the opposing team to punt in a third of all the opposing teams possessions. That is the differenc in forcing 90 punts (Houston and the #2 ranked defense) and 62 punts (The Saints and the 32nd ranked defense). The only other defensive player on his team to make the Pro Bowl was Jonathon Joseph (and he shouldn't have made it).

Mmmm ok so you go tear your MCL and ACL, then come back that fast and come up 9 yards short of the record.

Happy to see this, congrats AP. Definitely deserving of this award and was the guy who deserved it most. For once the guy who actually deserved it won. Color me shocked.

The guy ran over people like a linebacker and ran like a horse. Congrats to AP because you deserved it more than the media/NFLN pick of Peyton.

As someone who tore his as well ACL along with an MCL I know how hard it is to get back to regular form. I still have pains in cold weather or before a storm.

The man practically carried his team to the post season single handedly.

This isn't a QB who was 4+ options. He ran toward the end zone (most of the time vs 8 in the box) and did it in stellar fashion. HOF lock.

@Vikeologist: reports out saying Adrian Peterson received 28 of 50 votes and is the 2013 NFL MVP! #MVPeterson #Vikings

AP definitely deserves it. But I'm a little disturbed that your following Vikeologist. I don't know how he is on twitter because I don't follow him, but in the Paltalk chat rooms he is one of the most whinny fans I've ever come in contact with.

And he constantly calls the Saints cheaters because of the Bounty crap, I've actually had to tell the guy off a few times.

So if he hadn't tore his knee up he wouldn't have deserved the MVP?

Don't understand what the issue is, injury or not, teams put 8 sometimes 9 in the box and he still torched teams for 200+ yards at 6+ yards per carry. He had almost 900 yards rushing in the month of December alone which is more than a lot of teams had rushing all year in 1 month.

The remarkable thing about this is that the Vikings don't have a great passing attack, it is just good enough to keep teams honest on defense, teams knew what the Vikings were going to do and still couldn't stop it.

I think the Vikings beat GB in the playoff's if Ponder played.

All Day deserved it. I was hoping he would break Eric Dickerson's single season record too.
