Alec Gifford Dead (1 Viewer)

RIP Alec.

I will always remember watching him with my parents in the evening as a kid.

I remember when I was a kid he was on WVUE 8 with Nash Roberts and Buddy.

Robinette was on WWL 4 with Al Duckworth and Hap Glaudi, but I can't for the life of me remember who was the anchor on WDSU 6 (I know Gifford wound up there, but I'm thinking 70s).

I know all of the WDSU WVUE swapped around, but I can't remember who was on 6 before Gifford moved over around 80.

Random, but anyone remember?

Ain't dere no more.

Godspeed, you yat chap. Seems like he was always on my Granny's black& white TV inthe kitchen.

I remember him covering the Cabildo Fire & the Fair Grounds Grandstand fire. They truly don't make Louisiana men like this anymore. I had a crusty newspaper editor that broke his own mold as well.

Nash was never on 8 only on ch 4! I can only remember him on ch6. especially on the midday show,....

I don't remember Nash ever being on 8.

And RIP Alec.

I'm fairly certain he was on there between the other two, maybe 5-6 years in the mid-70s. And of course, RIP Alec.

Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nash_Roberts guess it was only 4 years. Was around when I first started actually watching news with my parents though I don't think I got much of it. His brother Ep ran the astronomy shop where we used to get our telescopes and binoculars. I think maybe around 80-81 near Lakeside.

Anyway, I still can't remember who was on 6 while Gifford was still on 8 :( I think WGNO used to have the afternoon cartoons, don't remember them doing news back then.
