All things Florida Man (3 Viewers)

Yup, every year at YNP people get way too close, and of course sometimes the elk react, it's actually amazing how often they don't but they are large, wild, potentially dangerous animals despite their dearish appearance.....I always give them plenty of space....
Yeah, my experience has always been that they're generally nonagressive (unlike moose) and as long as you keep back they will keep to themselves. The dogs just really pissed that one off. We were much closer when we first walked up on it (see the picture below). When we circled around I was a good 50 yards away when he started coming towards me, so that was definitely a reminder not to be so casual about them.

I had a close encounter with an elk on my property a couple months back. I was walking the dogs and we ran into a few of them grazing.

Usually as long as you keep your distance they don’t mind you, and will move on if you do get too close. But my dogs were barking at a young buck, and I could tell he was getting irritated, so I called them away. But when we circled back around they started barking at him again, and when I tried to call them back he saw me and started moving in my direction. I retreated, but he kept following.

Eventually all that separated us was a single pine tree — an 800 lb bull elk literally just a couple feet away. I thought he was either going to gore me or stomp a hole in me.

Meanwhile my dogs were still going apeshirt, particularly the one who had instigated things. But I was able to grab him and pick him up (which might have confused the elk) and then scrambled away. He didn’t follow but did turn in our direction, as if to say “yeah, that’s right mutherfucker, you better run!”

I didn’t stop moving until we got to the house, and then was finally able to exhale.
lol and to think I got a seven day ban on here in 2007 for using the three letter A word. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Gulp, that's really close, glad you were able to call him back....Cheers

The filters catch so much (you can't even use the term "Magna toss custard Laude"), I'm actually surprised that slipped through 😬😅.

Burke is not sure there is a good way to prevent people from taking advantage of the system
in today's tech world, is it that hard to really do a check to see if someone is already married? there may not be a national database, but i have no doubt there is some lines of communication at least within the state to be able to check by the ones who do the licensing..

you could probably just do a quick google search.

Police in Florida arrested a woman on Wednesday after video surveillance appeared to capture her taking items family members had left beside graves inside a cemetery.

Katherine Taylor, 61, was charged with two counts of criminal mischief and damaging property, for removing mementos from gravesat Etoniah Cemetery, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said.

Family members had installed cameras near the gravesites after noticing items were disappearing from the graves of their loved ones.

Video shared by the sheriff’s office shows a woman, which police say is Taylor, with a wind chime in one hand while attempting to remove another from a graveside memorial…….

The states/counties need contracts with Homeland Security. Those fools know everything about us. One quick check and they can tell you the date you first farted as an infant.
