gets uneasy when you see threads talking about the the Saints and the Superbowl prematurely. I might be weird, but I think that your cursing your own good fortune by discussing Superbowl plans and talking about the Saints playing in the big game. I won't even open those threads to read them.

Of course I am optimistic, but its a reserved or controlled optimism. This way I don't get too high and have to go far to crash and burn, in case we don't get that far. Maybe that comes from years of suffering or maybe I am just weird. Who knows? Anyone else feel this way?

Just enjoy it. This is the first December in I don't know how many where I can say the words 'Saints' and 'Superbowl' in the same sentence without guys in white coats showing up at my door to take me to a psychiatric hospital.

Nobody including me are allowed to speak about the Superbowl in my house. My SIL is a Cowboys fan and my wife wanted to call and trash talk at halftime. Nope, wouldn't allow it. We don't trash talk till it's over and we don't talk Superbowl until the clock reads 00:00 at the NFC Championship game.

I ain't jinxing this season and I won't allow anyone in my household to either. I've been waiting for this season my whole life. I feel it but I'm keeping my mouth shut and enjoying the ride.

This is not the same ole Saints and this year is Finally different. Although I think we need the bye week to get their I am not scared of any NFC team.

LOL. That sounds like me not allowing my oldest to wear his Bush jersey during the game. Meanwhile I have to wear my Deuce jersey and Saints hat. During the Dallas game, my son wouldn't even go look at his Bush jersey, even after I told him it was safe to put it on (4th quarter).

Whatever. I've paid my jinx debt 1,000 times over. Fate owes me and I'm collecting.

There is no such thing as "jinx"! There is only really good teams doing very well with their execution of a game plan against another good team who is trying to do the same thing against you.

There is certainly an element ( a BIG one since that ball is shaped so "funny") of "LUCK" associated with ANY unknown situation that will infuence that situation's outcome but in many cases, you can "Make Your Own Luck" by not hurting your chances and by doing the things you know how to do without "screwing things up" (penalties, protecting the ball, not throwing when the coverage has you beat, and making the Int.s when you get that chance!).

When this version of The New Orleans SAINTS plays that way, taking care of the football and not getting the penalties and "In The Zone" , as they have been the last three weeks, NO TEAM IN THE LEAGUE has a better chance at winning than our TEAM!

That said, looking at our record and the play of our TEAM, I don't think it's a stretch at all to be eyeing the Big Dance as a possibility!

Shrug off the gloom or the "feeling" that it's all going to burst in front of us and stay focused! This TEAM really IS as good as it's record and it's stats. More football to play? Certainly! Anything can happen? Certainly! I choose to look at what can be in a very positive light founded upon what I've witnessed so far this season!

!!!!!!!!!!!! GEAUX SAINTS GEAUX!!!!!!!!!!

Say it loud and proud, people- The Saints have a great shot at the Super Bowl, so we better strat making tentative plans- you don't want to be left out in the cold for this momentus event... Other teams' fans always talk about their teams making it to the big show, well guess what: we're good enough this year where we can actually talk about it and it makes sense. Anyone who saw the shellacking of the Cowpokes on Sunday can't possibly see another team capable of beating the Saints- with the exception of Chicago IN Chicago or the Chargers in XLI........

if this were baseball and you were a back up pinch runner, there is no way you would go up to the starting pitcher in the 5th and say "wow, no one has hit you yet, did you think you might get a no-hitter".....all the SB talk kinda reminds me of that

Different. That messes with the pitchers head. We're just fans.

not entirely different..evertime a saints player goes out to get food, gas, toilet paper or wwhatever and is confronted by rabid fans yelling "you're going to the SB!!"..it's not that unlike the pitcher scenerio

Yes it is

1) Gas station isn't a game

2) The players are thinking about it anyways

The comperable situation is Drew Brees thows a bunch of passes straight without an INT and while he is getting water the water boy goes "hey one more pass and you have the record for most without an INT".

Telling a player he is going to the SB, something fans have said to players since back in March, at a gas station isn't remotely similiar.

Hell, I won't even let myself believe we're in the playoffs yet until it's official. I've seen to many late season swoons. That said, the last 2 weeks showed me this isn't the "Same Ole Saints" so I enjoy the moment. I just don't look ahead beyond Washington. I reeally want to clinch the South this weekend

alright lss..i enjoy a lot of your posts and am not attempting to battle you on this point. i just think that since a Sb is @min 5 games away, it's premature to be talking, not to metion expecting it @ this point in time. we need to concentrate on the redskins, just as the pitcher concentrates on the next batter. I won't be talking Sb until we actually win the nfc cg. we have a shot, but need to focus on the task at hand first
