I found this in the yard. I can't tell if it's some sort of cool volcanic rock that probably has a massive emerald in the middle or if it's just some sort of concrete drip runoff.

Any idea?

I am a geologist. Are you in the Dallas-Fort Worth area? Do you live east or west of the Trinity River?

Has the cocoon hatched? Brian Dennehy died yesterday so I was thinking that may be the trigger to introduce the alien species.
