Netflix is increasing rates. Amazon decides "What the hell? So should we." It's only been a year or so since the last one.

I think it has been a few years since Amazon Prime raised prices hasn't it? I feel like I've paid $119 for at least 3 years. Honestly, I still think Prime is a steal at $139, but only if you shop on Amazon a lot. If it's just for Prime Video it's not worth it.

Edit: Yep, from the article:

The company last raised prices for Prime in 2018

I don't think raising prices every 4 years is a big deal, especially when it's more than just a streaming service.

Unlike Netflix. Geez.

Netflix isn't worth what I pay for it honestly. I barely watch it, but I feel like if I don't have it I'm missing out. That's how they get you.
Not even to watch Alisha Wainwright (Dion's mom) over and over?

so people have this strange idea that you are forced to pay for a year. But you don't technically have to. What a lot of people do is subscribe when a new season of -whatever- comes out, watch it, then cancel. You can do this for basically any streaming service.

That's an awful lot of maintenance.

I do think a $20 bump is excessive.

I am going to take a pause on Netflix and see if the family even notices. Will keep Prime.

Content on Prime is just lagniappe. They have me because most of my products come to my door. I didn’t balk at the hike a couple of years ago and probably won’t at this time. Its less than $2 a month to keep getting my shipments with no delivery fee. Yea I’ll do that. But if they continue to do it routinely, then I’ll likely think about dropping it and just making all my orders meet the 35 minimum or whatever it is now for free shipping. What ultimately works in our favor, I think, is the brick and mortar retailers trying to get into that yearly delivery club pricing game. Competition is always helpful.
