I don't no if anyone else is bothered by the tune selections of the DOME DJ, but with every passing game I become more aggravated with the sub par performance.

First its no secret the beer man likes to hear rap while waiting for the kickoff, this is obvious to anyone who has watched him dance when a Rap song comes on. If ML is waiting for the kick...Rap tunes should be on.

Now some may think this is not a big deal or that I am just griping for the sake of it. But as anyone who attends LSU games on a regular basis can attest too, the proper song at the right moment can make a huge difference. For LSU it is the "pregame" tune that gets the crowd fired up, the players jacked up, and the opponents scared. The LSU band knows this, some come the forth quarter of a close game they play it often.

For the Saints it is the U2/Green Day song. No matter what any body's personal preference to either of the Bands, I am sure I am not the only one who got chills on that fateful Monday night game when they played it. That song should be played at least during the fourth quarter during close games to get the crowd fired up, as well as the players. I know even the Busch league fans I sit next to get excited when they tease us with the very beginning of this song and then cut it off.

Simple things like this can go along way in keeping the crowd into it and give the players a little shot of adrenaline. Just wanted to see if anybody else is bothered by DJ Dome's poor performance.

i really could care less.....the songs they play at the dome seem to be the norm for most NFL stadiums as i have noticed while watching televised games.....if the player need music to get fired up for a game, we are in big trouble

I may not feel as strongly as you about it -- in fact, I was all set to disagree and say it really shouldn't matter -- but what the heck, it can't hurt. I could see where "The Saints Are Coming" could energize the Dome and possibly the team. If no effect, then that's really what doesn't matter.

I happen to think that the music and sound system are much better than recent years. But I also couldn't care less. :hihi:

Its all about the atmosphere...the players feed off the crowd's energy, in addittion to there million dollar contracts. If our bench mark is those "crazy fans" from the midwest, or whatever teams antipop is watching on tv, then I guess all is well. But, I don't think I have to remind everyone we are representing the party city of the world and we must not disappoint.

When the opposing team enters the field play "Send in the Clowns" by Barbara Streisand.

When the opponent scores play, "Don't it make my brown eyes blue" by Crystal Gayle

Where is all this apathy coming from?

there is no apathy....it's just people saying that it does not really matter....there are almost 70 thousand people in the dome all with different music tastes....i think they just try to be as general and non offensive as they can with the music....it's just really not that big of a deal.....not too many people care.....i am there to watch football, not play the jukebox

This has to be the most mislabeled song from the Napster days... The song is by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and has nothing to do with Metallica. Just doing my duty to give props to TSO, the rockingest Christmas Music band ever.

Which was kind of my sense at first and overall. Though it does seem reasonable that "The Saints Are Coming" holds a more profound distinction this season from other music and could stand as an exception to the general idea. Or not.

No apathy - I really just don't believe that the music has anything to do with the player's performance, which is my main concern when I go to the Dome 8 times each year (hopefully more this season :hihi:).

I'm sorry if it came off as knocking you - I respect your position, seriously. I know many fans like to enjoy the entire experience, which you should for the money you spend. The music isn't a big deal to me, that's all.
