If you go to Georgia, Matt Ryan is already a lock for the Hall. The exact opposite would be said in Louisiana or anywhere in the NFCS. But, is it true?
In my opinion, I don’t think he’s a HOFer. He’s better than the average QB, but he’s nowhere near the Brees, Brady, and Rodgers level.
Also, I think his HOF chances are hurt from being the same division as Brees and Payton. Brees and Payton have been winning a championship, division titles, and breaking records. Brees is already a HOFer while Payton is on his way. In my opinion, if he gets to that 170 wins range with the Saints or keeps his winning percentage in the .600 range, he’s in.
Meanwhile in Atlanta, there is not that continuity.
I’ll leave at this, Ryan only has about three or four years left. No championships. In fact, his only championship appearance will hold him back even further from getting a gold jacket. He needs a miracle to be considered. He may be the best Falcons QB to step on the field, but that’s not good enough.

He will probably be nominated but I’m not sure what they think would actually put him in. Trying to set aside my bias here, he has been solid in most every year. But he has never struck fear in any opponent at this level. Overall stats will be there but there isn’t anything beyond that. Nothing. He came in in an unusually weak QB class. But the years surrounding it had good QBs so in his generation he isn’t even all that strong. And even Flaco has rings.

Add to that, QBs that coming into the League after him like Mahomes make him look like a bench player.
If something doesn’t happen, his legacy would be the QB at the helm of 28-3 and that’ll keep him out of the Hall.

Matt Ryan is the human embodiment of watching paint dry.

He’s got a better chance of winning a Razzie for that Super Bowl performance than getting into the hall of fame.

He's a really good QB. He gives us fits every time we play them. The number of times he's scrambled for just enough yardage for a first down makes me insance.

When it comes time to vote nobody's going to care that he had one of the best collections of receivers ever, they'll just look at the numbers.

He's already a first ballot Hall of Very Good. Even if he never gets back to the Super Bowl, he's more Fouts than Rivers or Bledsoe. Also a very good person IRL.

If he keeps up these numbers for a few years, he's got to go in.

And I hate the Falcons as much as any Saints fan alive -- I was there for 62-7, the two Big Bens, and the season opening loss to the Falcons when Erxleben through the pick off a muffed snap. But absent a sudden career end, I think he's in.

I've seen a lot of Falcons fans talking about him like he's hot garbage and needs to retire. Seems like he isn't too well liked there, for some reason. Just kind of a feeling I get, despite everything point to him being a really good person off the field.

Though, that could just be because most of their fans either don't exist or are a few fries short of a happy meal.

Objectively I don't think I agree. He hasn't really accomplished enough to be in the Hall of Fame.

Thats just what it is. I think he is a really good qb, but really good, don't get you rings unless you have a great team, and coach around you. I'm just not so sure the falcons are capable of doing that again. Their best shot was 28-3, and if Tom wouldn't have made mince meat out if them in the second half, he probably would be looked at as a better qb, if anything that makes him look worse, and ultimately thats what people are gonna think of when they think about Matt Ryan.

The only way he gets past that is if he gets another shot, and wins.

Unless your Dan Marino, its hard to be a HOF QB in the NFL without the hardware

Matt Ryan is a good QB and thrower of the ball. He has good control of any offense he leads.

His 3 biggest issues are He needs to be protected by a running game, he makes poor decisions in worst moments, and he needs a good play caller to boost him beyond his limits.

He’s good...not great

Matty will get iced out of the HoF simply because Kyle Shanahan was in dagger field goal range in the Super Bowl but called idiotic glory passing plays and got knocked out of FG range. Matt has the stats but we have all seen Matt's career passivity in crunchtime. He truly is a poopypants meme.

I think the odds against Ryan getting into the HOF are 28-3
