I've thought from the begining the people didn't really care about the hardware or the formats, they were really interested in the movies. Sony made the decision to get exclusives for the the bigger action movies that drive disc sales, Transformers being the only notable exception.

I have been frustrated numerous weeks, watching relases only go to bluRay, that i wanted to buy in HD DVD but couldn't. So it appears most people choose based on who had the better movies to watch. Sony set out ot buy itself a market share, and it looks like they succeeded.

Well they did learn from Beta, what get's me is that the formats are nothing new for either blu-ray or HD, just repackaged
