Andrus Peat????? (1 Viewer)

I was under the impression that everyone on SaintsReport felt that he wasn’t very good. It was the media and outside fans that thought he would be worth the BIG money. It’s just crazy that his name hasn’t even been brought up once after all the money was given to equally talented linemen.

On that I can agree.

We don't know that.

He is coming out of an injury and teams can't arrange a visit to check his health.

Maybe even his agent is commanding too much money.

We really don't know.

But for others, Pete is multiple pro-bowl player that can play either left guard or left tackle.

Some people around here may not like him, but he is an attractive free agent if he is in full health.

If I was with the bengals, I will try so sign him asap.

I’d say it’s a pretty safe assumption given that the other top interior OL are all signed.

Peat is a pro-bowler in name. But teams are making it pretty clear how good they actually think he is Including us

At the beginning and middle of the season. People where defending him nonstop. That crowd has quiet down after how badly Viking d line exposed him.

Peat's a run blocking Guard on a pass happy team. It's a terrible pairing for him in New Orleans. Run blocking Guards also just don't have a lot of value on the market because the current NFL era is a passing league. I can see him signing a cheap deal somewhere like Buffalo where they aren't trying to sling it 40 times a game. The Payton offensive model of 40 passes and 20 runs a game is just not for a player like Peat.

Listening on SiriusXM nfl network last week, and Pat Kirwan had an OL coach discussing saints OL and DL players. He said Peat had "heavy feet" and couldn't switch direction very well. Not good for a passing team. He had Thunney as "almost elite" status, whereas Peat was "almost good" status. He also mentioned Warford as almost elite but getting older and Ramczyk as elite.

I personally blame Peat for Drew's hand injury. Aaron Donald made Peat look like silly as he blew past him to smack Drew's hand. I don't care who we sign, as long as Peat goes somewhere else.

Good info. Thanks

I haven’t even heard his name once since all this started. He was supposed to be getting big money from someone, but all these other olinemen are getting paid and he’s nowhere to be found.

Fair point! I've defended his recent Saints pay on the basis of what the market would bear for OL with tackle ability in FA, but we'll have to see if I was way off.

Maybe he's busy touring teams being wined and dined before he picks a winner, but given Corona, that don't seem so likely.

EDIT: Guillermo's point about injury status probably makes a lot of sense. Just like in the draft, recovering players have less value and get to wait a bit longer to be picked.

Titans would be a good place for him.
