Another WR (1 Viewer)

How many WRs do you think we need?

Is one elite WR and a great #2 not enough? We need the whole core to be all stars?

The Pats won their last Super Bowl with Edelman/Hogan/Slater. The Eagles with Jeffrey/Agholor/Torrey Smith. Would you take any of those corps over Thomas/Sanders/Tre'quan?

If we snag another solid WR via training camp cuts, then fine. But yall make it sound like its a requirement. Somehow the "we need a #2 WR" turned to "We need 3 great WRs!" soon as we signed Sanders.

Last years' offensive juggernaut and superbowl champions had:

Tyreek Hill 58 catches
Sammy Watkins 52 catches
Travis Kelce 97 catches
Damien Harris 30 catches
Mecole Hardman 26 catches
Demarcus Robinson 32 catches
LeSean McCoy 28 catches

Saints had:
Michael Thomas 149 catches
Alvin Kamara 81 catches
Jared Cook 43 catches
Latavius Murray 34 catches
Ted Ginn 30 catches
Taysom Hill 19 catches
Josh Hill 25 catches

Emmanuel Sanders 66 catches (w/ 2 teams)

Note: end of the season, Deonte Harris started getting some targets.

In other words, we weren't some sort of weaponless anomaly last season...
And by adding Sanders, we absolutely have one of the most stacked group of pass catchers in the league.

edit: Our top 7 and theirs wasn't much different other than we had 2 TEs and whatever you want to say Taysom was and they had 4 WRs.
Their #1 was Kelce, a TE who had almost as many catches as their top 2 WRs combined. Our #1 was Mike Thomas, a WR who had more catches than the next two guys combined.

Prevailing forum logic:

Drees has an MVP type season = his back-ups should be Teddy Bridgewater, Taysom Hill, Jameis Winston etc.

Michael Thomas has an MVP type season= his backups should be All-pro Trequan Smith and a bunch of guys who never caught a pass in the NFL.

You're seeing a different prevailing to the prevailing I'm seeing šŸ˜Ž

Normally it's a roiling sea of 'moar WR' posts... Just check the most commonly recurring thread titles of the past several years.

Corey Davis is big, fast and athletic. He also does not currently possess any of the intangibles to be a great WR. His catch rate is in the mid 50's for his career....

Just another WR drafted with an early pick (5th no less) that shows why you shouldn't draft WR's so high.....

The next Colston? Sorry, that's laughable....he is not even in the same universe when talking about WR skills....
