As a child, I ate a lot of cream of wheat with sugar. As a teen, I generally preferred corn based cereal. Today, it's more or less Oats. ( :worthy: $) But I don't like Oatmeal. :nono:

I also prefer when my oats and corn aren't contaminated with soy products. :nono:

Anything Non GMO is fine by me (if there is such a thing anymore). I loved cream of wheat as a kid with evaporated milk and sugar watching Little Rascals and 3 Stooges before school.

Oats? Isn't that dude on a mission trip in San Salvador or something?

Oatmeal with sugar and butter when I was a kid (I still like oatmeal). I also like grits with eggs and bacon. Both of these are > cream of wheat. bleh.

Bird's-eye maple.

Or gros.

Grits with runny eggs trumps all. Although I will eat cream of wheat and oatmeal.

Especially the instant country ham and red eye gravy with runny eggs.:9:

I have loved grits since I was a child. I want them with butter & salt & pepper. I had a tough time eating breakfast in restaurants when I lived in PA. Grits-loving must be in my genes. One of my aunts actually asked to be buried with a 5 lb. bag of grits. (I swear it's true...and she got her wish). I guess she didn't want to take a chance that grits are unavailable in the afterlife.

I also like oatmeal with sugar, butter & cream. Yum! I also like the instant oatmeal with cinnamon & apple.

I don't like cold cereal at all and never have.

Sometimes I'll eat instant oatmeal..
Cinnamon and sugar goes well with it..
Rarely do I eat cream of wheat..
Once in awhile I will though..
A bowl of grits with cheese is :9:
Thomas, a friend of mine, used to put ketchup on his.. :covri:
Every morning he'd do that..
Sucks that he isn't around anymore..

Not Oats, that is someone else

Too many missionaries on too many missions. I lose track. I wonder if someone has a spreadsheet to help keep track of all this?

I eat a bowl of plain, old fashioned Quaker [tm] Oats every morning, with some type of fresh fruit thrown in, and some skim milk. It tastes good, and is great with keeping cholesterol down, especially this time of year when there seems to be a seafood boil every weekend.

Paul, help a honkey out here. Where does the cholesterol come in at seafood boils, the sausage often added? Because I could be wrong, but unless you are putting butter or cream on your seafood, wouldn't that be more of a triglycerides issue (understanding that some people do use Real [tm] butter on their corn and potatoes)?

Mama,

I love grits too. Creamy from scratch, the kind you would love at most restaurants currently offering grilades and grits or shrimp and grits, are the best. If I'm having instant, I like the quaker with bacon (fakon) where I'll usually add butter, salt and pepper which is also the way you prefer them.
