And does it work? How effectively?

Dooes my butt look too big in this thong?
If you take it right at the sign of a cold, it is supposed to shorten the duration.

I've used it twice over the years, the first time it didn't seem to help, the second time it did?

It's possibile I didn't take it early enough with the first cold.

I believe in taking VitaminC also for a cold, and chicken soup........there's something effective with that broth IMO.

Oh, hot Green Tea is good too. (not good tasting, but helpful to fight a cold)

I just finished a Z-Pak.

Worked pretty well.
Zithromax is an antibiotic, that is different(for bacterial infections), and you need a prescription for it.

Zicam is zinc and over the counter.

I used the Zicam that you shoot up your nose. Seemed like it worked fine.

Everytime I have used it has worked well. I always keep some around since I work in a hospital. It's the only over the counter drug I know of that actually goes after the cold bug whereas the many other medicines for the cold only treat the symptoms. I believe they say that a clinical study shows that it reduces the duration by 75% if you take it within 24-48 hours of the onset of your cold.

Zicam

Chicken soup in mass quantities! I seem to recall there being an actual scientific study, that suggested that it does, indeed, work.:9:

That and LOTS of fluids does it for me.

But, sorry, no I have never tried Zicam.

as said by others- if you take it RIGHT when you feel the cold coming on, Zicam works pretty good.

I'm trying Zicam right now since I feel a cold coming on. I'm using the RapidMelt tablets. They are teh nasty tasting. So far, I'm on number 3 and I swallowed it whole due teh nasty tasting. Then I read the bottle and it says, "Do not swallow whole". I hope I don't explode.
