Need to buy one, anyone here bought one?

Is it useless to get 2" or less? They have 4" thick.

Any input is appreciated.

My pregnant wife is having trouble sleeping, this might help.

Also, do they smell funny, I have heard that...

I had a 3" for a while. The smell goes away after a week or two. Hit it with some Febreeze before you put some sheets over it. It also helps if you let it air out all day before you cover it.
The one i had only lasted 6 - 7 months before it got to be uncomfortable.
I ended up getting rid of it.

I have a 2" one that I got from Sams Club and have used it over 2 years with no problem.

For our cheaper (standandard) mattresses (we have 5 mattresses in my home) we use the standard foam matress pads (the egg crate pads you can buy at Wal-Mart) and they work fine:

Additionally, it may not really be so much the bed causing the problem with sleeping. There's a recommended way for pregnant women to sleep. Here's the link:

I'm 7 months pregnant. Is there a certain position I should be sleeping in at night?

Lying on your side with your knees bent will probably be the most comfortable position. Many doctors specifically recommend lying on your left side for improved circulation. Lying on your left will keep the weight of the uterus off your liver and the large vein that carries blood back to the heart from your feet and legs.
