I am doing an assignment for class and I clueless as to how to complete it.
I have to create a simple one player battleship game in java that is displayed through the console. Could someone help walk me through it. I would much appreciate it.

You want someone to write it for you or help with particular methods? :idunno:
if that is your assignment you must be pretty far along in the class. Do you have any of it coded?

:nono:

Remember that 'coding' is the translation of a design into source. If you start with code, you will go through countless costly refactorings.

oh yes. Having just finished the course we discussed on the EE board myself, I am obviously new. But that would also mean I might be able to help and would actually still find it enjoyable instead of boring.

On a side note, since I did not want to dig up a thread on the EE that probably should have never been there to begin with, the Stanford Engineering courses that are offered for free are indeed very good. The guy that teaches CS106A is a great instructor. CS106B, which is done in C++ but ony briefly teaches it before moving into hashing, recursion, etc. is a good course but I learned from the book and got very little out of the lectures. Just thought I would throw that in here since it was on this site that I found academicearth and all of the good stuff they have grouped in one spot. Thanks again Andy!
