Any level headed person with any common sense knows that any of our politicians are basically liars who tell what thier costinuency wants to hear even if that is not thier belief. We elect liars and elitist to office on both sides. Do you ever ask why such a person would put his himself and family and friends or even aquaintances under such excruating and hard ball scrutiny? I mean for what? Maybe there is a political scientist or maybe someone knowledgeable about the subject who could enlighten me. Most of these people are well off to begin with, so what is it ? Vanity?

I think people start out political careers actually trying to make a difference. Then they realize its a lot easier not to, but still like the cushy benefits.

Also, for many, its better to be hatefully remembered then forgotten.
