[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]According to Prisco's comments:

Just a hunch, but the inability of the Saints receivers to win deep might be the thing that hurts this team down the road. While Marques Colston is a good receiver, he isn't a burner. Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem can run, but they aren't consistent. The Saints get a lot of passing yards because Sean Payton schemes his receivers open, not because they win against coverage.

He's an idiot.

:angryrazz:

Prisco just gets dumber and dumber.

that goes a long way toward explaining how we've led or been near the top in plays over 25 yards the past few years... also explains drew's 5000 yd year, all those 10, 15 yarders ya know

Let me try this..... FAIL ...First time I used that one. I don't care what any article says, or anyone else for that matter... The Saints can sling it deep with the best of them. Devery and Meach are both very good deep threats, and if teams sleep on Big Smooth or Lance Moore, they can burn 'em deep too.

...Oh yeah, and then there's that Brees guy throwing the ball.

He really is off on that one, heck we had a deep one against the Jets that was just a minor misjudgement by Meachem, if he runs through instead of thinking he had to wait on the ball it's probably a touchdown. We haven't called the deep ball the last 2 weeks because we haven't needed it. When the defense is destroying the other team's offense you tend to play a little more conservatively.

Prisco has to lay off the crack......

First it's we're not going to win with just a passing game, now this......This guy is proving to be a hack every day....

Prisco = hack on crack....

And these are the analysts that we get so worked up over about power rankings and prognostications? They're just dudes.

Wow, so against 2 good D's we pound the ball and win on D, we are all of a sudden not able to go deep anymore? lol How quickly the media forgets.

If we are thinking of the same play (1:48 remaining in 2nd qtr), that was Colston (where he jumped for the ball instead of continuing his route and catching the ball in stride - looked like he thought the ball was underthrown).

Wow, Prisco really seems to be grasping for something to criticize this team for. There are a number of things that "might hurt this team down the road" but anything to do with the passing attack is well down that list.

I'm sure Brees is going to be working with Henderson and Meachem on just that very thing during the bye week. Don't underestimate Henderson. He'll drop a few, but he's a big-time receiver down the field. Let's see if Meachem can come up with more than 1 catch per game. With his size (Meachem's), you would think we'd be throwing some fade routes near the goal line.
