Aperture only. I used a 50mm prime lens

I have a 50mm prime too. Prime was the only way I could get to an aperture that wide and justify the cost for now. Love that lens though; it seems like you learn a lot when you have to move your position instead of moving a zoom ring. Great pic!

Gonna try to join in the thread more this month. I just ordered a Tamron 18-200. I know I won't be able to get to 200 really but I was tired of missing shots because I had to wrong lens on.
 
That "Nifty 50" is a great lens... My wife used it until I bought her that 2.8 24-70 a while back and that's all she uses now... She does use the 50 every now and then...

Blue Vinca
25 images shot with Canon 50D and MP-E 65mm at 2x using 0.12 mm steps with a Cognisys StackShot and stacked in Zerene Stacker. Lit with MT-24EX @ 1/64 with diffusion gels and backlit with Jansjö LED lamps.


Oxalis 'Plum Crazy'
35 images shot with Canon 50D and MP-E 65mm at 5x using 60 micron steps with a Cognisys StackShot and stacked in Zerene Stacker. Lit with MT-24EX @ 1/32 with diffusion gels.


Orange Pansy
31 images shot with Canon 50D and MP-E 65mm at 2x using 0.26mm steps with a Cognisys StackShot and stacked in Zerene Stacker. Lit with MT-24EX @ 1/16 with diffusion gels.

Hopefully I'll have some wildlife shots to add to this or next month's thread once my new little lens arrives.

My little cousin at the annual family crawfish boil. She was bummed that her tooth wasn't quite ready to come out.
