This is the level of stupidity brought about by social media. Prior to social media, sure, there was stupidity present in the world, but not to this extent. These people are just absolute imbeciles.
I read something a while back that basically said the level of stupid has not changed. What has changed is the ability to reach the stupid. Basically it's giving the fringe a voice louder than they previously had due to financial restraints.
Prior to the internet, it was too costly for newsstands and publications to exist with minimal access to audience thus making media more centrist. Now that you can setup a website with shock headline then allow the audience to amplify your message, these sources are able to make significant gains vs tabloids of old.
So really, this is just the evolution of misinformation and no one really knows how to deal with it.

I wonder how long before the usual mandatory vaccines start getting push-back as well?
There have always been anti-vax people, but I can't tell if the movement is growing, and/or people are just playing politics with public health measures and don't really care about requirements for MMR, DTP and the others.

It’s already happening. In order to not look like total hypocrites people are questioning vaccines for polio, measles etc.
And that’s citizens and some politicians too (Florida I think)

I'm kind of in booster no man's land. I got the novavax shot. I'm still waiting for novavax to be approved. If it doesn't get approved, i'm just going to go ahead and get an entirely new vaccine. For this reason, i didn't want to get a booster yet, because i don't want to get so many shots too quickly together. I'm giving Novavax one more month. This certainly is frustrating though. I wish i could just get a booster and be recognized as being vaccinated by the state. I do have a CDC card, but i don't think i'd be able to travel internationally with it or anything.

I visit Tigerdroppings occasionally, but it’s funny how different websites can cause a different internal reaction .. like when you log onto them, a visceral feeling that comes over you.. SaintsReport is like the loyal woman youve been with forever , who treats you right and is nice to you (with the exception of maybe buzd and one or two others).. Lol, that thread is very tame by TD standards.. you should check out their Politics board.. what i have noticed over the last few years is that their “OT” board (which started out as their version of the EE board here) has become *extremely* political.. that thread you linked is on their OT board currently.. whereas their Politics board now resembles something like Stormfront .com or one of the other white supremicist sites on the web.. it is truly disturbing and dangerous, filled with all sorts of basement-dwelling losers and miscreants.. i mostly just go to TD for LSU news and info, but whenever i veer into their OT or other boards, i immediately regret it.
