Hey look, nobody wants to put anybody down on this. It has been a pretty terrible year for just about everybody. I am in the same boat as many people who are just royally ticked off about all of this. My whole family has been shot up with Vax, we have taken all three that have been put on the market. I won't go into my background of my family, but we kind of know a lot of cool stuff and we really keep up with facts. There is no such thing as a 100% deal in this world, but these vaccines look pretty darn good. I told some friends a while back, before we got the Vax, that I would pay $5K per dose for the stuff and I still would. About 99% of the anti-vax information out there is total junk, there is a small grain of truth in some of it, but not much. In a perfect world, we would have had years of time to test these vax shots out, we did not have the time, but we do pretty much have hundreds of millions of doses out there in the world. The incidence of REAL and ACTUAL negative reactions is extremely low. My wife had the Pfizer vax, she felt bad after the first shot, I had Moderna and after the second shot I felt like a dog. I would do it again, without hesitation. We are going on vacation next month.....no real fears. (We are even looking at cruises in a few months.....yes, floating virus labs.) We will be "careful" but these vax shots are like gold. The technology behind them is solid. I am not living the rest of my life under a rock, unless that rock has unlimited seafood and beer.

We will get back to some sort of normal....much sooner... if more people get shot up, they won't have any REAL excuses to keep us locked up then!

It is your decision, but don't believe the negative hype out there. The 5G chip is not THAT annoying.
Thumbs up !!

My wife said "Didn't you also eat half a bag of beef jerky?" . . . which I thought was a fair question.
That was my issue... I had a potentially suspect dinner... but the two girls ate the same and had no issues... so, did I have a reaction to the food or the vaccine?

Finally convinced myself to get it and just got the second dose a week ago. In 2 weeks, I will not be wearing a mask into stores anymore. I'll walk to my table at a restaurant with it on just for theater. But now that i'm vaccinated, i'm done with the mask thing.
Set aside bail money, depending on store rules. Haha.

Don't want to end up like the Disney guy getting arrested for trespassing.

Another side note. Reminds me of my wife complaining about her stomach distending (she has some issues) and other digestive problems... and I'm like, um you are like 2 pounds of cheese for lunch, a snack and dinner. Maybe it's that....

Thanks Doc !!

Don't wait too long, though. My nephew was in Chicago and has been trying to get the vaccine but being young healthy, it's not his turn yet. He was briefly exposed to someone that tested positive completely outdoors and he is now home in bed with all the symptoms of Covid. Sucks. I think some of the new variants are really infectious.

Look, when you get the kind of negative reaction you got, and also people are pointing out better information, it's not because we like or dislike you. It's because you're very very wrong and posting dubious things and we're trying to point you to more reliable information. Some things are opinion/perspective, others are more like facts.

You've proven to most of us that your 'junk filter' is bad. It's ok, a lot of people have bad junk filters. It's why we tend to go to experts to get an expert opinion. i.e. unless you're mother in law in a plumber, you don't ask her for advice on repairing a main line shut off valve.

And if you have a hard time trusting sources, then don't try to act like the answers you found are definitive. If you're unsure, then you're unsure. But don't act like you're totally sure of the opposite of reality.

How about you just reach out to your doctor and ask them?
All good brother , what's not helping is we know lots of people , even kin people , friends ( honestly good people ) that say absolutely not going to take it . I have spoken to my doctor and he said yes to taking it . I went to see my doctor for a yearly wellness physical and found out I had 80% blockage in my left artery in my neck ( I don't smoke , just genes ) . Got the operation and now have a scar from my earlobe to my adam's apple . Spent 1 1/2 days in ICU , while there I asked all the nurses about the vaccine , the answers were half & half , some for , some against . The doctor that did the surgery said yes to taking the shot but I would have to wait till my neck is healed. So I tell my wife I don't know what the heck to do . Now maybe hopefully that answers some questions on my reaction . Thank you for reaching out . I've learned a lot from this post .

Nurses are some very knowledgeable people. but honestly, if a doctor tells you should get it, but a nurse tells you no, don't get it, personally, I will take the advice of the doctor.
One of my wife's good friend is a nurse and she "knows" everything. I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard "oh, I wouldn't worry about that just because the doctor said xxx..there are years of extra learning that goes into being a doctor that a nurse doesn't have.

Also the new variants are hitting kids harder which means it is that more important for adults to sack the fork up and get vaccinated since that is the best way to protect the kids at this time

Well, you had two doctors tell you to do it. Your primary, who probably spends more times keeping up on those kind of things than most specialists, and definitely more than nurses. Your surgeon just wants your neck properly healed. I'd side with the MD's.

for your wife, it may be a bit more complicated, so it's why I advise people speak with their own doctors, because of their own unique medical situations. But, overall, doctors say get it. But, if she has her own doctor, she should get advice from them. Especially with what sammy was saying about menstral cycles, and I know some younger women have been worried about fertility issues, but it seems like there isn't any data to support those fears. But there also may not be data to alleviate those fears either.

Don't want to end up like the Disney guy getting arrested for trespassing.

Probably depends on the area. I am down in the Houma area. Haven't worn a mask the past 3-4 weeks. No one says anything. No one even looks.

I think I will go with the doctors suggested and hope for best , I do trust you guys too . As for my wife , LOL , we're both 62 , I'm at my job that I've been with for 40 years ( I'm the Boss & the oldest one in the company ) . Right after the last Saint's game the president from The Woodlands called me to say he was sorry we had lost . For some reason they love me here , also , some of the guys here at work the vaccine , it's a no .

I am not advising people to break rules but, if you keep a mask in your pocket and whip it out if somebody tells you something, I think you will be fine. The only instances of cops wrangling people to the ground or actually tasing people without masks, have been unruly people who refused to "comply" with a request by a business or a Law Enforcement Officer. I would 100% comply with either of those, but I might take my business elsewhere in the future. Just remember that a business owns its own property and they can set the rules in regards to who they provide services to. (Of course they are not legally allowed to discriminate on the basis of many factors, but not wearing a mask is along the same lines of "no shoes, no shirt, no service" and those types of rules are allowed.)

I follow rules on masks if there is an explicit sign saying, no entry without a mask. If there is no sign, I use my own judgement, but keep a mask in my pocket in case I am confronted by a Karen Manager.

The mask mandate has been lifted in Ms.,but private businesses have the final say. If they require a mask. I'm going to honor it. Btw,I'll be 6 weeks past my 2nd Phizer dose Friday. If a business asks you to wear a mask before entering, please comply. Don't be that guy
