My life may have meaning after all.

Exclusive! Jason Bateman Confirms Arrested Development Movie Talks

This just might be the best news we Arrested fans have heard in a very long time.

Jason Bateman has just confirmed to me that the creative minds behind Arrested Development (Mitch Hurwitz and Ron Howard) have put the wheels in motion toward a major motion picture of the Fox TV comedy so many of us adore. I'm told by insiders that Jason and other Bluth family members have received calls from producers (Hurwitz and Howard) asking if they would be willing to shoot a movie.

"I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started," Bateman says. "Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed."

Jeffrey Tambor also revealed on XM Radio's the Ron and Fez Show that he has been approached by Ron Howard to see if he's willing to do an Arrested film. (You can hear that interview below.)

.Jason Bateman needs therapy. He actually wanted his real life sister to come onto the show to play his character's love interest. So he would be making out with his sister! Whenever I see his name or hear it I can't help but think of that. Sickening.

Man it's too much to describe. Probably because i've seen every episode like 5 times.

This is from IMDB

Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman), a widower with a 13-year-old son, named George-Michael (Michael Cera), is forced to keep his large and dysfunctional family together after his father (Jeffery Tambor) is arrested for shifty accounting practices at the family-owned conglomerate and the Bluth family assets are frozen, making each member of the eccentric family panic. Michael's snobbish mother, Lucille (Jessica Walter), finds herself living alone in a penthouse without the financial means to maintain it, while Michael's two brothers, GOB (Will Arnett) and Buster (Tony Hale), and his sister Lindsay (Portia DeRossi) with her husband Tobias (David Cross) and her daughter Mae (Alia Shawkat) also find themselves having to recreate their lifestyles to fit their new financial status
Also, George-Michael has a crush on his cousin Maeby who may be adopted.

Yeah, no laugh tracks or anything. It's a very clever comedy that has a lot of inside jokes they refer back to in season's 2 and 3. Which is one reason it got canceled because people couldn't just start watching in Season 2 and understand what was happening.

I'd look to rent season 1 and if you like it rent 2 and 3.

Would have to be incredibly well done to live up to the series. I just don't see it working.

This could be tremendous news. Arrested Development is - by far - my favorite series, all time.

As cruize pointed out, it will be tough to live up to the expectations of the series but I think Hurwitz could pull it off.

Additionally, if this brings any possibility of the series being given another life on television, I am all for it. I know that Hurwitz became quite jaded at the industry and said on a couple of occasions that he was done with the series, having invested too much into it and not receiving the support from Fox he felt he - and the multi-award winning show - deserved.

The fact that he is open to talks about a movie and pursuing that end is tremendously exciting.

My wife and I watch it every day - syndicated here in Canada - and it is the only show that both of us have said we could watch every day and literally never get sick of it.

Not even the one day we watched all of Season One in a marathon, snow-day session.

That may be more of a case of wanting to get his sister a good job. I don't know how much making out this show has, but I am sure that anything weird could be avoided. Has Justine been in anything lately? I still think of the two from Family Ties and Valerie's Family... renamed The Harpers.

David Cross said it best. Warning foul language used.
