Brees said he was proud of the way Shockey kept his competitive juices under control. Even when the Saints' defense was on the field, Shockey rarely took a seat, waving a white towel with his right arm to get the home crowd going. He also joined the defensive coaches on the sideline, offering any tips he might have about the Giants' offensive hand signals or tendencies.

You can say anything you want about Shockey but he wanted to win this one BAD

the same Shockey he was a year ago minus the hernia, not just against the Giants...but against every team. Glad he is showing what he is about in NoLa

You know I was one of the biggest critics of the Shockey trade but he's making me eat what I've written. He's been a real asset. And probably the biggest thing to date - he said all the right things before the Giants game. He gave the NY press nothing with his simple "This game is not about me, It's about the team". Perfect. What could've easily become a firestorm/distraction was a complete non story. Shockey just needs to keep on doing what he's doing.......

Jshock is the man.
Moreso for not letting the giants matchup go to his head too much. He played it well and didnt act like a fool despite his team beating down the giants. Hes bewen nothing but a good sport while he's been here. Last year he called out the trainers, but guess what? they really sucked last year and it has been evident that they changed something drastic in the staff. Shockey is healthy now and able to make the plays he knows he can make. I dont think very lowly of a player wanting to be their best. Shockey just wants to be what he knows he can be. He doesnt need people calling him out for that.

Was he on cloud 9 in this game, or what?

He was so excited after every catch.

He was big in that first half, and it opened it up for our wideouts because they had to cover the middle with Shockey.

They showed Shockey going nuts on the sidelines, screaming at the refs after Vilma got flagged for that hit on Eli. He is really passionate and I love the way he supports everyone on the team.
