No kidding. My perspective is pretty simple. We beat McNabb when McNabb was hot, I think we can handle Garcia when Garcia is hot. The defense is playing better sure but it's still McNabb vs Garcia. Come on

We also beat Romo when he was hot, and Vick when he was hot (first game). This years we seem to be putting the cool down on the hot QB's.

I am not a chest beating trash talker, but I don;t get all of this Eagles are hot talk.

They beat a Giants team in total disaray, they beat Cowboys team that we dismantled, and they beat a crippled Panthers team. (The ddibeat the Redskins by 2).

We beat teams that are hot. They beat them when they are down.

They have won four in a row with Garcia, sure, but...

27-24 over a very, very mediocre Panthers team.
21-19 over a terrible Washington team. Sure, we lost to them, but that was easily our worst game of the year (and a big time hangover game).
36-22 over a poor Giants team that we just dismantled in their house.
23-7 over Dallas who we destroyed in their house. Dallas played a terrible, terrible game.

And it took a long deflected pass for an INT return TD to beat Washington.

But over that same span the Saints have beaten the Falcons 31-13, 49ers 34-10, Cowboys 42-17, and Giants 30-7... yet somehow the Eagles are the NFC's hottest team with mostly squeeking out wins.

I won't sit here and say it's not a challenge, because the Eagles are a good team and anything can happen, but the way the Eagles play is about as bad as it can be when it comes to matching up against the Saints.

They are a horizontal passing offense with Garcia, while the Saints' main deficiency in the secondary has been the deep deep pass on Fred Thomas's side. And the Eagles' WRs over the last few years, other than TO, have been very soft, especially in the playoffs. The Saints challenge offensively and will be in the faces of those WRs all day.

And defensively it gets worse for the Eagles. If it wasn't for Dawkins they really wouldn't stand a chance. With Dawkins they can kinda take Reggie out of the game, but that leaves the middle of the field wide open. And they rely on getting pressure through blitzes, and the Saints' offense has the perfect counter for that with swing passes to Reggie and Deuce out of the backfield (Deuce even had 6 catches for 36 yards in limited action against Philly this year).

Don't forget this though... Deuce went down early in that game with a hamstring injury after he was just tearing it up. And two plays later Reggie got injured on a horse collar tackle and basically was also inefficient the rest of the game. Despite that they still scored 27 points.

Not to mention Devery Henderson, the Saints' best deep threat, did not play.

The Eagles stand a chance, if they make it to the second round, but they're going to have to play twice as hard and have the ball bounce their way a few times to win it. The matchups don't favor the Eagles.

Many eagles fans still see the saints as an easy game

Here are a few quotes:

Seriously...I want another chance at the Saints, too. What I remember about that game was unusual turnovers, a player blocked into Reno Mahe that resulted in a TD the next play and some really bad officiating in a game we lost on a last second field goal...

The Saints??? Please... Tampa Bay gave us more trouble

The only number Sean Payton has is 26, that's when the Saints will be on the clock in April.

Totally agree with you........besides with Garcia running this offense now, the defense rested and smelling blood....the Aints are going to be cheesecake for this team as it marches into the SB.......

Selective memory,... stating it was a last second field goal suggest that we drove down the field with little time and manage to just get into field goal range. In fact, we drove the ball down their throat and comfortably kicked the field goal leaving them with no time in which to mount a cou8nter drive.

Yes, that is definitely selective memory. I was at that game, it was a very ,and a hard fought physical game. The Eagles stormed back to take the lead in the 4th but our defense came up with a stop and the offense just took it to them for the last 8 1/2 minutes.

How long can Garcia keep his hot play up?? maybe a couple more games but I think the Saints have shown that we aren't just a hot team at the moment but a very good one.

If I remember correctly, the Eagles did not lead that game at any time. They tied it up with around 9 minutes left in the 4th, then we got into the victory formation for the final 9 minutes and Carney kicked a chip shot to win.

Just checked and, yeah, Philly did not lead us for 1 second when we played them.
