Ask a Texans fan about his team (1 Viewer)

I just want to say this:

All opposing fans should read this thread, specifically the opening post. That's how you post on an opposing forum on a gameday!

That said, Welcome back b0ng!

He does all you want from a QB. 4k passing yards, good TD:INT ratio, and he's great on bootlegs. Got a good head on his shoulders and I think the leadership is there. He needs a defense that can create more opportunities for short fields and then I believe it'd pretty much lay the "clutch" and "intangible" arguments to waste. Schaub has the leadership role down and he runs that offense no doubt. He's very cerebral but his deep ball is not his strong suit. To me, to win right now I'd probably take Schaub over some QB like Flacco or Ryan. He can do everything you need from a QB to succeed.

schaubs problem is that he is mistake prone. and most of his mistakes come at the worst time.

any concerns about Foster and the hammy? As a physical therapist......can't believe he played the second half of last year with a torn meniscus......not only played but played at such a high level.

where's your weak link? It's the secondary, right?

I don't get to watch many Texans games unless we play them.

The middle of the field is pretty susceptible to passes and inside runs. No one unit is worse than the other especially with how bad the defense was last year. And thanks.

I think the Wade Phillips signing will have a huge impact on the Texans defense. Wade Phillips is a Gregg Williams quality defensive coordinator. Just a pretty bad head coach. Gregg Williams is a 100x better coordinator than head coach also.

I actually have the Texans winning the AFC South this year. I'll be pulling for the Texans all year except tonight and week 3.

It would help if he didn't have a defense that was so bad it magnified every mistake large or small.

He probably won't replicate 2010, but he is playing tonight.

Yes he presented himself well!

Thanks for the compliments.

What are your thoughts on Brooks Reed? How has he been in camp so far? He looked OK in the jets game from what I saw of him. And is Ben Tate coming along ok?

I see a lot of mirroring between the Saints and Texans. Similar paths led to good offense, poor defense, hire a good D coordinator who was a head coach. If there's any other team I am mildly interested in cheering for in the AFC, it's the Texans.

Do you see the same similarities?

I agree. I've always quietly cheered for the Texans to knock off the Colts. The window is there this year.

How would you rate your receivers after Andre Johnson? I know Ford is a great return specialist and has playmaking ability as a receiver. But he can be an inconsistent receiver at times.

He's a rook and he's been up and down in game time. I think his impact will be as a situational guy and probably rotating in when Barwin needs to be spelled. Ben Tate we will also see tonight!

Very much so, but the difference here is I think Payton is a much better in-game coach than Kubiak. But we will see.

Ford is a return specialist for the Raiders my man, our guy used to be Jacoby Jones. They might have Terrance Toliver returning kicks tonight, but our special teams has been pretty bad the last few years. Outside of Andre I think the wide receivers themselves are average. Walter is pretty good with catching the ball, but he's certainly dependable. Jacoby Jones is the #3 and has way more talent and upside to his game, but is pretty much the opposite of Walter. Completely undependable. Owen Daniels was a great pass catching option a few years ago but he tore an ACL in 2009. 2010 he was recovering from that injury, but, the last few games of 2010 he started getting back to his original form. If he were Owen Daniels 2008 he would be the #2 target behind Andre the giant.

Did Brian Cushing and Duane Brown use PED's?

Uh. . . yeah?
