I think this is a good hire. Hope Dusty can get his ring. He came close once but my Angels thwarted his plan in 2002.

He is the Andy Ried of baseball; highly decorated, respected and one of the best coaches over. Only thing missing is a World Series Championship.

He was a good manager for the Nats. He's not going to do anything creative, but he'll keep taking them to the playoffs, at which point everything is a crapshoot.

As an Astros fan... I hate this. The worst possible thing to come out of this whole mess is for our owner to send the org back to the stone age in order to placate the anti-analytics traditionalist crowd the prior regime P'Oed off so much.

It just makes me appreciate Benson all that much more for his handling of the Bounty Gate situation.
