Pretty good article in the New York Times on teams trying to position themselves for the playoffs.A bit of it:

New England has a two-game lead in the A.F.C. East, and the Ravens (6-2) have a two-game lead over the Bengals in the A.F.C. North. In the N.F.C., the Giants have a two-game lead in the East and are 3-0 in games against their division rivals. Chicago is three games ahead of the Minnesota Vikings in the North. The New Orleans Saints (6-2), one of the biggest surprises of the season, have a one-game lead over Atlanta in the South and have already defeated the Falcons.
