Attention Please: I am a Saints fan. (1 Viewer)

Absolutely! When you need to know, just click on the playoff scenario thread!

Threads.....plural hahahhaha!

Dude, nice meeting you at the tailgate before the game last Thursday. Good Times!

...that means I didn't make the roster. I wasn't hired as a coach. I don't make decisions or determine the outcome of a game. Other than yelling, of course, which I do profusely at every home game.

That means that I can focus on any game I choose, including the playoffs or the Super Bowl, without repercussions to the team.

The next game is a weaker opponent; I may overlook that opponent without fear of the game becoming a "trap."

I can analyze the playoff scenarios with the assumption of a win over Cincy, and that doesn't make a win over Cincy any more or less probable.

Here's the point:

What I talk about on the internets with other random fans has zero bearing on the focus, drive, desire, hunger or mental state of either the Saints, their division rivals, or this week's opponent.

So please, on this internet message board devoted to any and all things Saints, stop telling me I have to focus on the Bengals game.

Thanks for listening. Have a Nice Day.

+1

I got blasted for posting a playoff scenerio yesterday. Thanks for this... To me, that's one of the best possible topics to discuss of this forum.

Well I, for one, completely disagree with you. We as fans must do exactly what the players do in order for us to win. I'm sitting in an icebath as we speak, and later I will be reviewing gametape.

I was held out of practice today. I have a 'finger.' To much Word With Friends.

I think you are spending too much time talking about all this drivel and not enough focusing on the Bengals game this weekend.

Interesting that "Mike and Mike" were on this subject this morning, but from the other way. They were talking about how players have a totally different perspective than the fans - and that they must (this came about because of the Derek Anderson thing).
While we fans live "Sunday to Sunday", Golic talked about how the player have forgotten the previous game (win or loss) by Tuesday because they have to focus in on the game plan. All the stuff we obsess over is pretty completely different than what they are obsessing over.
Golic told a story about being accosted by a fan for being grocery shopping on a Tuesday evening after a loss. Golic pretty much laughed and told the guy that game was out of their minds as of Monday afternoon when the film sessions ended. It's weird how many fans have this attitude that the players must obsess over things the way they do. The truth is that the players who do obsess over such things usually don't last long while the players who are level-headed enough not to obsess over such things are the ones who play well consistently.

:smilielol: Well done.

I agree with the OP. Could everyone please shut up with the "over-looking" and "trap game" language? If you're one of the people who works at the facility and see that the players and coaches are planning ahead instead of on the next opponent, then feel free to blow the whistle. Otherwise, grow up, please, and stop telling the fans to focus, much less the players who don't need your advice either. Honestly.

Yeah, same to you, 1010 Collins was a blast. We took that city over.

Of course, if we'd been doing walk-throughs instead of all that partying, maybe it wouldn't have been so close. Lessons learned.

Is that game tape on ESPN or NFLN? If we fans must review gametape we need to know where to find it. Maybe we need a Saints Gametape Network!

Make it happen, Loomis!
:hihi:

The ironic thing is that looking ahead, discussing playoff scenarios, rooting for other teams is one of the more "fun" things we get to do as fans. The season flies by and as Saints fans know, we usually aren't even in position to have these discussions at this point in the year. Watching the game is the most stressful part of the whole part of being a fan, talking about it afterwords, looking forward to possible playoffs, dreaming and discussing about one day winning the Super Bowl is the fun part!

When a fan says take it one game at a time, they're missing out on one of the most fun aspects of the entire process!

HAHAHA! WORD! I'll keep that in mind next time.

Since your are going to do whatever you want to do anyway, just try to play by these rules:

1. Don't yell when the offense has the ball (even if you are in your living room)

2. Don't start a wave (even if you are in your living room)
