HAMMOND — A major automaker has a northeast Louisiana location under consideration for a
new assembly factory, with a site decision expected sometime this year, the state's economic
development secretary said.

Stephen Moret was speaking Wednesday in southeast Louisiana, at the Tangipahoa Economic
Development Foundation's annual banquet. He told a crowd of 300 that Tangipahoa Parish's
industrial megasite on Interstate 55 ranks as a major state priority but interest from prospects is
highest in the north Louisiana site, which the state bought for $4.6 million in 2006.

Let's see how our highly rated ethics reform does in its first audition...

It is Kia that is looking to build there. It has been under consideration for some time now. The previous administration needs the credit if this comes to fruition.
