Nose tackle Remi Ayodele might be the most anonymous starter on the New Orleans Saints, and ironically it’s Ayodele’s ability to draw attention from opposing offenses that has helped make him anonymous.

“He’s a block eater,” defensive line coach Bill Johnson said of the 6-foot-2, 330-pounder. “He’s a guy that has got to do his job so other guys can go run and make plays while he plugs a gap. He’s a big-body guy. Every chance we get he’s out there on first and second down, especially if they have a tight end and two backs in the game.

“He’s the only real big guy we’ve got. He’s not going to have a lot of sacks. I’ll tell you what he does do. He does disrupt. It’s hidden production. I don’t know about tackles and assists, but that’s not a position that we’re looking to get a lot of that out of.”
