Saints #BaldysBreakdowns - Dallas @ Saints (1 Viewer)

Who is the DT Brown? I didn't pay attention to him earlier. Did we bring him in for depth with Rankins out?

No, he's more of a NT type to replace Tyeler Davison and maybe help with the anticipated loss of Rankins and Onyemata to begin the year. He's a former first-round pick for the Patriots and had a down year in '18. Thus, the relatively light deal of 3-years $15 million. And he's only 25-years-old, so plenty of room for growth.

on dallas touchdown drive they let cooper run free in a soft zone for huge gain, followed immediately by witten across the middle with soft zone for huge gain, followed by soft zone again that allowed another huge gain for big yards.

DA literally gave them soft zone that entire drive and their star players all got big yardage. that short drive and TD nearly cost us the game.

how do you leave cooper running free, then witten, then i dont even remember who the third guy was with huge gain to get them near the goal line, and each time they (dallas main star play makers) were running free wide open. thats one heck of a defensive call by DA there to rush 3 and play soft zone so they could march right down the field and score on us. the defense played great before and after that series but that series and touchdown was gifted to dallas by DA
Which was right after the bogus Defensive holding call on Demario Davis which gave Dallas a fresh set of downs.

I heard 'press man' alot in these breakdowns. Does that mean we've moved away from the zone D that we've been complaining about these past few weeks?
against mobile QBs man coverage is dicey bc the DBs are watching the receivers and not the backfield
so with Watson and Wilson you want zone so you make sure the QBs don't peel off 30 yd runs bc everyone;s back is to the ball

Watch the right side of the play and the backside pursuit. I can't see the number but I am pretty sure that's PJ Williams. Yeah, he's got his weaknesses in deep coverage but when it comes to crashing down on a receiver or defending the run, he's a playmaker. Reminds me of a Roman Harper with better agility.

man, watch oneyamata on that play throw is left shoulder into the double team
amazing strength and balance

My dude Davenport is balling, especially on that reverse. He would of beaten Tavon to the sideline, had Tavon continued to run in that direction.

I love Baldy's breakdowns. Thanks for posting! :9:

Baldy is incredible.

I’m sure he’s the same with various teams, but I don’t watch those cause I like to think he’s a lifetime WhoDat like us.

He sure sounds the part.

That's when I thought the refs were going to hand the game to Dallas, but we refused to break and shut them down after that drive, despite another bogus call on our D--the holding call on Apple, when he was still within the five yard area where he was allowed to impede the receiver.
