Check out the new Incubus cd for some good tunes.

Minus the Bear is awesome. 30 Seconds to Mars is good. Mars Volta could be good if they didn't try to be weird.

Incubus post SCIENCE has like 2-3 decent songs per album and that's it.

Panic! at the Disco is my #1. I literally cannot listen to them without wanting to puncture my own ear drums. I don't know what it is, but I just cannot stand the sound of the guys voice. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Fall Out Boy is #2 most hated. Learn to speak english. We're goan dowgownburuburhehburowwhhh and sugarweeeeeegoandonswiggen....

Minus the Bear and The Mars Volta are both crazy talented, though I don't care for either a whole lot. I didn't really care for the new Incubus cd very much, either, as I had the chance to buy it today. I'm just not digging the sound with that Roots bassist. JMO.

yeah, you hit that spot on with incubus. i used to be a huge incubus fan (hung out with them whenever the came to louisiana) but ever since alex quit, its sub-par. dont get me wrong, ill still take them over any other current "rock" bands that are making albums, but when comparing them to their former selves, its just subpar.

I beg to differ. There was never a time that Godsmack possessed any talent whatsoever. Kinda like that band Saliva. Remember them? Just godawful.

just curious how you define "alternative"...to me, it's a very broad label like "pop".....many bands are considered "alternative" that are in fact just simply nothing more than rock....

It is kind of like pornography (I know it when I see it) only with Alternative music, I know it when I hear it. There are some songs I have heard from what are described as "alternative" bands that I like. When I think of alternative, I think of some guy whining about something. All the music sounds the same to me, and it stinks. I never really pay that much attention to the band as I hear it and turn it off as soon as possible.

reason i ask, primus, alice in chains, soundgarden, nirvana(like em or hate em), and other great bands have been classified as "alternative".....it's like saying "audioslave is pop music"...yes they are popular, but they are no where near as "pop" as justin timbersuck or the likes......i guess it's like you say, you know it when you hear it......

Do y'all think that sometimes a band "sucks" because of their fans? See, I like 311, Sublime and the Misfits a whole lot, but I can feel a lot of you rolling your eyes because maybe you're thinking of "white hat" dudes (hell, maybe some of you are "white hat" dudes), cheesy stoners (see above), and tweakers with huge Misfits patches on their leather jackets (see above). But stripped of their fan base (and in 311's case the dude that sing/raps) the music is really something special.

Where does the suckage come from? Does the fish rot from the head or do some bands get taken over?
