Another wrinkle for this game is Chris Banjo. Will he be able to offer an advantage to the Cardinals in the way of signals or tells? He was here for a few seasons and training camp so he was privy to the full scheme and installations.

That is probably one of the most overrated advantages of a player going elsewhere. Just like you know he is there, so does our coaching staff. For that to be an actual advantage, our guys would have to be be near incompetent.

We set up game plans for each individual game. That includes shifting and changing signals and ways of communicating info. Game film will show much of that kind of thing, so decent staffs make sure that it changes from game-to-game.

Tells are something else as that is an individual thing. But just as Banjo might be aware of tells, they can be seen on film as well. Self-analysis and coaching done properly can minimize that sort of thing.

That said, it could happen if Brees went elsewhere and did happen when Fujita went to Cleveland. Fujita was a very cerebral guy who shared his knowledge with Cleveland and contributed to our defeat. Banjo? Not so much.

You can bet that few would have that level of knowledge or that current coaches would ever make the Fujita mistake again.

The funniest example of this incompetence was the Bucs/Raiders Super Bowl when OAK was running the same plays Gruden had installed when he was coach and that was exactly what Gruden spent the 2 weeks prepping his defense for. A mic-ed up John Lynch even excitedly said "These are the same plays from practice!"

I'm not terribly worried about Banjo. I'm more worried about the team just having a general letdown game after a 5-game winning streak and a big road win against a division champ from last year (Payton's done a great job of keeping the team focused, but a little complacency is just human nature).
