i really could not disagree with you more....Bayonetta will blow your 4 horsemen out of the window....even Ric Flair agrees

While I don't have a lot of high hopes for Darksiders, I have to agree that Bayonette isn't anything great. I just played it for an hour or so and while it isn't bad by any means, the game play is just boring. Like Sack said, it's hard to really tell what is going on. You just jump around mashing buttons. It looks like the story could be good, but it's hard to get through all the boring button mashing and the still frame story telling to get to it. And, as others said, it's so chaotic that 90% of the time you don't know who you are hitting or what your objective is. You just hit buttons until something near you dies.

It reminds me a lot of Anime in the style and the story. Which might be nice, but because of that (Or maybe because it has a Japanese director) it seems to have a Japanese sensibility about the game play. There is just something off and essentially Japanes pop culture about the game that probably makes it a tough fit for an American audience. It's like an old arcade game where you just mash buttons and it just doesn't motivate you to stay with it long enough to learn the story.

you just hate everything

Pretty much true. I have high standards. You on the other hand love anything that does not have the word "Halo" in the title.

On a more serious note, I just found Bayonetta to be a button mash fest with little to no point or direction. It's not really a "bad" game, it's just feels unfinished, derivative and nothing new.

Tried it last night- was pretty fun, but im still not sure if i want it over Darksiders

Either way Dantles Inferno demo blew them both away-THIS is the GOW for 360, not Darksiders

*standing ovation*

I'll agree that the Dante's Inferno demo was cooler as far as story and the general feel of the game, but I had more fun playing Bayonetta. Regardless, I'll play both of them.

I finished Bayonetta this morning. Excellent, excellent action. The story was beyond nonsensical. Just a random mish mash of cutscenes that didn't tie together or many any sense.

The game tries to one-up itself after every level, and it succeeds in absurdity. Just waiting to see what type of demon her hair will turn in to next is reason enough to keep playing.

The enemies are challenging, though you'll fight different versions of the same ones over and over. Later in the game, the challenge was lessened because of this.

All in all, a good game. Not great, but solidly good. Definitely try the demo first - if you don't like it, don't bother with the game.

im almost done with Bayonetta- your right about waht hair beast you see next- and the boss fights are just friggin epic. The water one was insane

Agreed.

I don't understand the hype with this game.

I don't want to play as Sarah Palin..and there is way too much shiny junk on the screen..and I'm not into the anime asian female heroine crap. Sure when it's done well it's good..but when it's bad? Imho, you get Bayonette. That being said I can see this game appealing to some gamers.

Honestly the game was so visually unappealing along with your character being Sarah Palin was just a real turn off. But the gameplay was way too twitchy and you just couldn't make out wth was going on with the glowy crap everywhere.

I know this much..if I ever decide to be a drug addict this will most likely be my first choice in games.
Any fan of Clover/Platinum (Okami, Godhand, Viewtiful Joe, MadWorld on Wii) will tell you why this is hyped. Because that team consistently makes amazing games. This being one of them.
Dantes Inferno is ****.

Maybe all those other games are great. I don't know since I haven't played them and I've only heard of Okami and Mad World. But, Bayonetta is not a great game. It's an old arcade style button masher with some neat looking anime graphics. It's nothing new and nothing special. The same is true of Dante's Inferno.

Its not special. Bayonetta is just fun for me. Its insane. Its over the top anime style. I love those things about it. Its kind of like the mindless fun that is No More Heroes 1 and 2 on the Wii. GOW is similar though I dontl ike the style at all or the main character.
