Bayou Heat! A First Look at WR Emmanuel Sanders in a Saints Helmet (1 Viewer)

Emmanuel Sanders might just be the best #2 receiver we have had in the Brees/Payton era. We had Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Ted Ginn, Kenny Stills, Willie Sneed, Marques Colston or Joe Horn depending on who you got as the #2 Colston’s rookie year, or Brandin Cooks or Michael Thomas depending on who was #2 in Thomas’ rookie season. Colston was maybe the #2 when we drafted Cooks, but he was past his prime at that time. So yes I would probably have Cooks and Devery as our top #2 WRs since 2006 cause I have Mike as the #1 from day one. I think Sanders has a chance to be better than those 2 for sure.

Sanders averages 877 yards per season, so I don't get why he's rated so low.

If he hasn't lost a step, Brees will light him up. At 33, he should still be in good shape.

Don't forget the 66 receptions. For comparison Tre Smith had 18 :( in 2019.

Sanders will help the Saints tremendously & take the pressure off of Thomas that is for certain. Assuming there is a 2020 season.
