Be glad you live in NOLA.

Texas liquor laws require the liquor stores be closed today because of Christmas being on a Sunday.

It's not like New Orleans where you can go to a Times Saver and get a pack of gum and a bottle of vodka.

Sucks/Sarcasm...

Vodka and gum...

Now THERE'S a grocery list! :hihi:

Whenever my company has vendors coming to town for business from Texas (or almost anywhere), they are always shocked by two things: that we have drive through liquor stands, and that places like WalMart here sell liquor. :D

I'm just happy not to get 3.2 beer in grocery stores as in Colorado...liquor always stocked prior to Sundays....

I never understood that about Colorado. You can basically walk up to the store, and put out your joint by the door, while you go grab a 6 pack of your mandatory 3.2% beer. At least they have their priorities in order.

I'd probably never buy beer if I lived there.

Can someone please explain to me why we have this law? In Lake Charles you can't buy liquor on Sundays to drink at your home, but I can go to a bar, resturant, or casino and drink all the liquor I want. It makes no sense.

because Jesus wants you to gamble and drink on Sunday

Does Mississippi still have the law that beer can't be sold on Christmas Day? I did not go to the store on Christmas, so I don't know.

When I lived in Monroe (La) they repealed the Sunday liquor law. But even though it's nowhere written into the new law, nobody will sell liquor or beer before noon on Sundays. :idunno:
