Bengals = Trap Game? (2 Viewers)

I heard Payton brought in the Admiral to remind the players what this game means. He's a master motivator, we'll be fine.

I really didn't want to make this "I'm worry about this game post" but a few things have me a little concerned. First off, the Saints have a history of playing down to a team with a bad record..especially one that they're not familiar with like Cincinnati. Second is the weather conditions. Even though the early forecast looks decent something could change. Third is Drew Brees and this Sportsman of the year thing. I'm very happy for him and want to give him congratulations but I'm a little worried about this being a distraction that could have him off in terms of his preparations....Lastly is the defense. I'm not saying they're playing bad by any means but the fact is the last 2 QBs they faced they've given up over 300 yards passing. I really don't think you can afford to give that to Carson Palmer and that Bengal offense given how they've been struggling. Overall, I may be just worried over nothing but everytime I think of that Arizona game it makes me sick and I never want to see a showing like that against a team the Saints should've beaten.

Since you are so worried about how the Saints will perform, maybe you should follow another team that won't give you so much stress. This is not a trap game. There is too much on the line for this team to overlook any opponent.

No. An upset is possible, but it won't be a trap game.

Dale Carter and Aaron Brooks agree.

I always used to think that trap games were games sandwiched between marquee matchups. Games where the emotional high is hard to sustain and a letdown is more common.

I don't see this as one of those. If we aren't prepared, we can lose, sure.
But it won't be because of a trap game.

This would be a classic trap game if the Saints were undefeated right now...they righted the ship 5 weeks ago and it looks like they started taking every team seriously. I don't see them letting up on the Bengals.

Every game is a trap game. Not just future games, but past games.

Me? I'm especially worried about playing the Houston Oilers on November 22, 1981.

According to Peter King, the last 2 QBs to win the Sportsman of the Year award led their teams to blowouts 5 days later. Beware Bengals.

The Last QB was Favre and he beat the Raiders 38-7
it was during his last year in Green Bay
