The Vikings signed Bernard Berrian to an undisclosed six-year contract.
Berrian could be overmatched expected to be a true "number one" receiver, but he adds production and talent to a woeful passing game. Tarvaris Jackson now has two burners in Berrian and Sidney Rice, which means Bobby Wade will still be active underneath. We'd expect Berrian's numbers to take a slight hit in Minnesota, where Jackson is still a major question mark.

I guess Chicago thinks that Devin Hester can be an everydown player. That it's going to be the Rashied Davis show next year.

Is it me, or Chicago dismantled their team over the last 2 years? Trade Thomas Jones, let Berrian, Muhammand, and probably Briggs walk.

Do they want to win over there or what?

Well they did resign Rex Grosman so that's your answer.

Acutally, I don't think that lowly of Rex. Last years mess I blame mostly on Ron Turner.

I hope Berrian likes to block cuz he ain't catching many balls on that team.

I mean I understand going for the money but why would you go to receiver hell?

This is actually bad news. It means Chicago will focus their entire attention (and cap space) on Lance Briggs now.

The Vikings signed Bernard Berrian to a six-year, $42 million contract. He'll get $23 million in the first three years.

and

Berrian receives $16 million signing bonus

More information is trickling in on the Bernard Berrian deal.
Berrian will receive a $16 million signing bonus.

The way the contract stacks up, Berrian will be the fourth-highest paid receiver in the league.
Berrian had a career-high with 951 yards last season.

Devery for 2 mil is sounding real good about now.

Moss is on the streets and Berrian is the 4th highest paid WR in the NFL parlaying an astounding 951 yards last year into a big payday. Maybe re-signing Colston is going to use up the rest of the Saints cap space. That's why they haven't signed any talented free agents.

Those figures for Berrian are ridiculous. Wow.

This is also bad news for us. I read somewhere that the Bears really wanted to retain at least one of Berrian or Briggs. They may go after Briggs harder now.
