Best gaming system for kids: PS3, wii, or xbox? (1 Viewer)

Make them read. Video games are just electronic babysitters.

I would argue that watching mindless cartoons are more of a babysitter than video games. At least with the Wii, there's motion involved, motor skillz development and reading comprehension.

Is it true that you can use the older Game Cube games on the Wii?

Like Jeff said, you need the GC controller. Also, the Wii has slots for the GC memory cards. If you had a GC like we did for 5 years, once you have the Wii, you don't need the GC anymore. We put our's in the closet until it's time to go on a long road trip, then we hook it up in the van for the kids to be babysat.

My 4yr old loves the Wii - he needs help to progress on Mario Galaxy, but he can play it on his own without a problem.

Even the 1yr old likes to watch the games - he dances to Guitar Hero, which is very cute.
