Glad to see Sara (starship?) didnt make the cut. That song made me want to stab babies

It's actually thrice. lol. I had problems.

Lol.. btw , when i was a kid in the mid 80s, there were like three songs named SARA that were all hits, and were all pretty decent.. i know one was by Fleetwood Mac, another maybe by Starship(?) and the third.. i dunno, maybe I’m thinking of Sara Smile by Hall & Oates... yet there is nary of a mention of any Saras on your list...

Just looking at your original list, prior to editing- honestly it would be very hard to pick.. I’d say it’s a tie amongst about a half-dozen of them.. the best (after my favorite, Melissa):

1) Sherry.. i dont think I’ll ever get tired of Steve Perry’s plaintive wail on this.. just a solid rock song

2) Mandy- i mean, it’s Barry Manilow.. for that reason alone, it has to be near the top

3) Michelle- just such a cool song.. plus, couldn’t not include a Beatles tune.. though Eleanor Rigby might technically be a *better* song

4) Valerie - didnt really get into this song til later in life, but has really grown on me

TIE- Maggie May, Angie, Rosanna.. tremendous songs all, but couldn’t be more different from each other.

Still don’t know why Suzanne is not edited into the list

Also embarrassed to just not remember that Martha by Tom Waits is actually the best
Mostly bc it’s one of the best songs ever

closest thing i could find to the greatest quadruple threat alive.
