Thoughts on this list? Prince Amukamara is intriguing. I defer to some of the more experienced talent evaluators

Other than Fairley and Zeitler I'd prefer that the Saints sign depth guys like Jelani jenkins and concentrate on impact in the draft.

I hope they find upcoming players, who have been backups of established starters but have proven they can play. To me, we should use free agency to rebuild depth to the right side of the offensive line.

I think we only will get 1 shot at getting an OT or guard in the draft. FA for the other. I really want a Dallas like O-line. Say what you will but they suffered through a few lean years building that O-line and now it made mvp consideration for 2 rookies..
Mvp should go to the Dallas O-line.
Any way give me RT in FA and a guard about the 2nd or 3rd round. Ill be happy.

Agree.

I think we'll go after a solid starting CB. Breaux, Williams, Swann, Moore, and even Webb and Crawley would all be in camp. We'd have our #1 and #2, the rest will compete for slot corner, depth, and special teams.

LB is a little tricky. Which LB do we need the most? MLB? That would be my thought. Ellerbe and Roberston at WLB and SLB... A solid starting NFL middle linebacker, like we were hoping we were getting when we signed JL.

DE.... draft draft draft.

OL - Would definitely make me feel better going into next season.

KR/PR... draft draft draft.

There are some mid tier MLBs available, Lawrence Timmons, Kevin Minter, Gerald Hodges and Keenan Robinson to name a few. Malcom Smith is the guy I want at LB. Hopefully we can land a G and a CB in FA

Getting a guy like Malcom Smith, Zach Brown, or Kevin minter could be huge for this defense! And none of those three should break the bank. Should being the operative word there.

Getting Zeitler or Warmack would help the o line tremendously, with Zeitler being the big name. Not sure he even hits the market though.

As for CBs, if the price isn't right then maybe just draft one in the 1st-3rd rounds, wherever BPA. Corners tend to command top dollar in free agency. If we find another Greer type deal, then great but we still can't overpay.

Agree with most that the top pass rushers won't even hit the market, which is fine. Taking the best DE available in either the 1st or 2nd round of this year's draft could be a real get. Very deep at DE.

I think Johnson and Bouye will command big money. I think Kilpatrick and Gilmore are more realistic targets at CB. Joe Haden would be great as well if he gets cut. Minter struggles in coverage but I would love M.Smith on this team. Also an underrated name is Timmons he is 30 so will not command big money but he is playing great football. Could be interesting since PIT has to pay Leveon Bell and they have Shazier at MLB as well. Short term 2 year deal could be beneficial for both sides. Agreed don't love the DE class outside of Melvin Ingram think we should look to the draft there

Agree with all this. I just don't want them to over spend on any one position because they need help in multiple spots. If a Haden-Gilmore-Kilpatrick type CB can come in somewhat cheap, then by all means.

I think I'd rather Smith as well, but if we landed Minter I still wouldn't be mad about it. Him, Robertson and a healthy Ellerbe would be dominant against the run, average against the pass. But that's where our three safeties come into play, as all of them seem to be good at covering.

Im hoping the prices for those three guys at CB is reasonable. Like 6-7mil a year. That would be in the ballpark of what we offer. I think if we get a LB or CB in FA that opens up the possibility of taking a S in round 1 (Hooker or Adams) to beef up that 3 safety set. I would like an edge but could get one in round 2 thats very good as well (T. Charlton, C. Lawson, D. Walker, H. Landry come to mind).

If Eric Berry someway somehow get out of KC then a jet needs to be escorting him to New Orleans. Dream over and then I woke up

I think that if we're going to throw money at a problem area then we should start at CB or LBer. Historically we've been able to draft well when it comes to O Line and we should be able to fill some needs there. Obviously we need some help in terms of pass rush but those guys are making crazy money now. Some of them are making QB money so I'm hoping we look at this problem in the draft as well.

We all know that a legitimate NFL starter is needed at Corner. We've been relying on a bunch of scrappy no name type guys but I think we can do a lot better. A big ticket CB is going to cost a lot but it sure would be nice to not have to worry about that position for the next few years. Add a proven starter at CB and with a little luck in the health department we could have a really good Secondary.

Usually in free agency you can find good LBers relatively cheap. The demand isn't as high as it is for DEs and CBs so you can sign a good LBer without breaking the bank. I'd like to see us sign a proven starter at MLB and maybe OLB. It looks like we got ourselves a player in Craig Robertson and we'll have him for his prime years. That's one position we don't have to worry about. If the top pass rushers are gone by the time we're up at #11 then I think we have to take a long hard look at Reuben Foster. I think he's going to be a difference maker in the league and Nickel sets with him and Robertson would be awesome.

I think we need to look at what positions are most crucial. Then figure those that we can't risk simply relying on 50/50 (at best) draft picks to fill.

We need a DE who can rush the passer. Noway am I going into next year without signing a veteran to fill that role. We need a CB with real experience. We need to add another LB to mix pretty desperately. Then a G needs to be signed. We actually have the money this off season to do all of that + add depth with lower signings + we have the draft.

There's no excuse to leave any holes unfilled this off season but if I had to rank FA needs:

1) DE
2) CB
3) LB
4) G

DE is first mainly because it's tough to get elite production out of a first year rookie at that position, especially if they aren't a top 10 pick. Joey Bosa got 9.5 sacks this year and he was the top of class. Some years you'll have the rookie leader only have 8 sacks. We need a stud across from Jordan to transform this defense.

I love AJ Bouye! I think he could come in an be Jabari 2.0. I don't think he will comand HUGE money. It won't be cheap though. Gilmore and Johnson will get the big paychecks. DJ Haden could be a decent pickup, too. They'll probably all get paid more than they should, but you have to expect that with corners. I think we need to grab one in FA though and the draft. We can't let CB injuries ruin our season again. Williams and Swan are both coming off horrible head injuries so who knows what their future is. We NEED to add two good, solid corners this off-season.

I think OL is somewhere we have to think long and hard about....
Strief and Evans were amazing this year and have been a very long time but it's hard to keep depending on them when they'll be 34. Unger isn't getting any younger either... and hopefully Armstead will spend the next 6 months in hyperbolic chamber.

So do we keep Lelito and Evans? Start Kelemete and Zeitler?

Do we draft a guard? Count on Landon Turner? Are we still interested in Leary?

Sticking with the offense... I'll be very happy with our current 5 WR's. But do we address TE? Count on Hooman coming back and Fleener and Hill improving?

What about Hightower and Cadet? Murphy and Lasco haven't proven they're ready to replace those guys at all. Do we make a move for a scatback? Danny Woodhead? Do we try to find an all around back good enough to replace both Hightower and Cadet's production?
