Biggest offseason need: Explosive playmaker at WR (1 Viewer)

I’m not even going to type the LB from Tulsa’s name... I’ve fallen hard for LBs in the past, only to see them go to other teams or for the Saints to pass on them for someone else. I can’t open myself up to that kind of disappointment again.
I hear you, bro.

That guy is a beast and I rarely ever hype linebackers early.

Even if they don't get him Jabril Cox is very similar to a healthy Alexander and might be around in round 2.

Ok so how many of those do you predict they will trade away?
Right now one pick. I think the maximum value in this draft will be the 2nd round. I think you'll see a high number amount of WRs drafted in 1st and 2nd . Among the board and how covid been this year... WR is considered the safest pick.

If we move up in the 2nd and we let William walk. We are probably getting a top safety prospect. If we keep Williams. I can see us drafting a WR if the chips fall. We got an old #2 WR and Harris being an injury liability.

The defensive talent in this draft is very undervalued and we can could see 2015 paradigm of excellent defensive talent falling, because the covid year affect on defense.

I don't expect much on the offensive side with the offense being in such good condition besides trading up amd drafting a QB.

The defense has a completely different issue.

YYou’re looking at bringing new coaches. We somehow need to bring Mike Nolan back, because Hodges while perfectly fine. The position group has taken a massive step back.

Then, you got a new secondary coach ontop of a possible new Defensive Cordinator if Allen goes to Philly. What you want to do in this interest is kind of what we did with the Kwon trade. You get as much physically talented players to offset mediocre coaching. It's what I would consider Legion of Boom. Mediocre coaches with basic coverage schemes that dominated with Elite Talent.

So, I would definitely sacrifice a pick for a top FS in the second round.

ON top of that issue... Parts of our defense is getting old. Jordan, both Jenkins, Davis while the offensive is super young. So, investing in their replacement is a wise long term stability decision.

If they end up with

1
2
3
3
4
6

They could easily address QB, MLB, S And WR with the first 4 picks and also look into trading a pick next year for ammunition this year.

I like the thought of potentially Moving Jordan inside to 3 Tech and possibly getting a 3rd round rush specialist.

If Mac Jones is gone swap that first pick to Zaven Collins or Pat Freijermouth and call it a wrap.

Breshad Perriman fell flat with the Jets... It wasn’t entirely his fault, but he could come at a discount this offseason. He is still young, and he still possesses elite speed.

John Ross III was a bust in Cincinnati... even trying to get word out that he wanted to be traded, but to no avail. He struggled with both health and consistency, but his speed and athleticism are elite. He should come cheap on a “prove it” deal, and perhaps a change of scenery is just what he needs.

I mentioned this in another thread but Despite having the weakest arm in the league Deshaun Watson is one of the league's best deep passer because of deep accuracy.

He also has the 2nd highest career yards per pass attempt only behind Patrick Mahomes in the entire league.

Even if Winston isn't as accurate down the field as Watson or Mahomes, just adding the threat of a deep ball that can take the top off a defense would open up the middle better for our best players like MT, Kamara, and Cook.
Please don’t mention Cooks name right now its still too early lol . I sure hope we don’t Re-sign him because he has been a game killer since he’s been here .

Look at the four teams left:

Buffalo (Diggs and Brown)
Chiefs (Hill, Hardman, etc)
Bucs (Brown, Godwin)
Packers (anyone Rodgers throws to)

They all have multiple guys who can stretch the defense. They make offense look easy.

We didn’t have that. When you can stress the defense vertically, it makes the underneath stuff much easier.

Obviously we won’t be able to get one of the big 3 in this draft unless we trade up, although Waddle would be perfect if he slipped a little.

A guy I like is Kadarius Toney at UF. But UF’s offense was more about getting it in his hands and making plays instead of going deep.

Marquez Stevenson at Houston is intriguing.

Tamorrion Terry from FSU is big and fast and his lack of production can be attributed to poor OLine and QB play.

Rondale Moore could be a special player, but his size and injuries scare me a bit. Plus, like Toney, he seems to do a lot of his damage after the catch instead of just taking the top off the D.

Anyone else?

WR is like 3rd or 4th on the list of needs.

I’d say QB, Safety, potentially corner and LB are all bigger needs right now.

I think we have an amazing wr corps, we just didnt have a qb who could throw it to them.

I was disappointed when the Saints didn’t go after Perriman last offseason, and now they may have another shot. His father was one of my favorites when he was a Saint...

I’d agree with that... There will be at least a few FS available in free agency that are at least as good (if not better) than Marcus Williams... Marcus Maye, John Johnson, Justin Simmons, and even Desmond King... One of them will set the market for FA Safeties.

Ross is a free agent?

Bumping this.

The big play(s) already showing up in the NFC title game through 1.5 quarters. I’m sure we’ll see more in this one and in the AFC title game.

Give me some big play receivers and a QB who can hit them.
