D-Line focus on getting their hands-up to knock down balls. That can be effective, for a while (a play or two). Unfortunately, you can't bull-rush and have your arms up at the same time. Oh, yeah, don't get caught with Reggie's draw play while you are standing their with your arms in the air. LMAO

Good stuff. I have always thought that the key to beating our offense was clogging the throwing lanes and the D-line getting their hands up.

Pressure up the middle isn't always good as long as Brees has an outlet because he's good at sliding in the pocket and that gives him COMPLETELY clear throwing lanes. But he has to have an outlet to escape in order to make that work.

If there is a team out there than can design the defense to cover one area of the field at the expense of another, yet clog the throwing lanes that would give Brees the opportunity to use that, they would succeed, but that would take A LOT of really good players and a VERY practiced scheme.
