For my 2 coworkers who died during the worst of Covid in 2020-2021. Marty, our maintenance supervisor was undergoing chemo for kidney cancer. He insisted on setting up the Covid unit during the first chaotic days. He told me once " I can't catch Covid, it will kill me. My immune system is shot" I told him to go home, take care of himself. He didn't go home, he took care of others and paid the ultimate price.

Renato was a PTA with diabetes. He wouldn't stop either. He said "it's what I signed up for when I got into health care" With most of his coworkers out with Covid in late 2020, Renato stuck it out but ultimately succumbed to Covid in March 2021.

Peace on your journey, gentlemen. You died heroes.
