Blood type? (1 Viewer)

In Middle school we tested are blood type and i came up with A-, My blood donor card says i am O+ i think that is probably more accurate.

I bleed awesomeness.

I found out my blood type. I'm HIV positive.

Is that good?

Positive is always good.

I am almost 40 and I have no freakin' clue what my blood type is. I can tell you my cholesterol numbers, blood pressure, etc. But I don't think I have ever been told my blood type. I also pulled my most recent physical blood work and another set of work I had done for life insurance. And the blood type is nowhere on there.

I even called my physician today and they don't know either.

Why is this? Is it simply that testing is so quick in the event of an emergency that medically, you don't really need to know anymore. So it's more just a convenience?

Well, the test does only take a few minutes. I've had mine tested a few times and donated a few times, but I don't even remember what it is.

Check your birth certificate.

They check beyond ABO and Rh factors, so even if you know your blood type it won't help anything move along faster. And they probably would test anyway, even if you told them your type and it was all they needed.
