i was searching around youtube watching music videos and stumbled across a video of blues guitarist albert collins. id never heard of him before but he shreds on the guitar. no pick, no problem for collins...he never uses one. anyway, check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvtI0nGSVoQ. i guess the clip is actually from his dvd "live at montreux" that fontana is releasing. anyone get a chance to see him live? that would have been amazing!

Go to myspace, and look up the band Backdoor Slam. They are an awesome blues band.

Back when I lived in Austin in the late eighties, he was a fixture at Antone's and we'd see him play there all the time (Buddy Guy, too). I wasn't even that much into the blues yet, I just went because he always put on a fantastic show. It was only years later that I come to realize what a blues legend he was. Hard to believe he's been dead for almost fifteen years, now.
